This is not the Ritz. However it was clean and beds were comfortable. Location was great. Needs updating. Parking is a big issue. We had to unload in an alley way and walk a block with luggage to lobby. Parking was three blocks away!

We arrived and found it difficult to determine where to check in. Some additional signage may help future guests. Also, the day we arrived was quite warm and humid and the main area (not really a lobby) was definitely NOT air conditioned. Once we found the desk, we were treated well and all the general things were discussed. Got to the room in a sketchy elevator ride and was immediately put at ease. The room was larger than expected and fairly modernized. Some "lipstick on a pig" items, but for the price and comparison to other rooms/rates it was very comfortable. Had to remove our own garbage from the room, probably should have explained that better. AC in the room was perfect and cold, plenty of hot water and good water pressure-Major bonus!! The desk employee was very helpful in letting us know how to get where we needed to go.

Old style was interesting with the architectural details. However, there was a lot that was "put together" that cheapened that. Was quite hot b/c boiler was not switched out yet for AC with unusual temps in chicago in april (which is not predictable). Furniture is mismatched and not intentional and was hodgepodge. But I don't need a fancy place! So was clean enough and fine for a reasonable price tag for a quick stay. Had an excellent view though of the BEAN and the Lake at sunrise! Can't get that in many places!

Hello Jenn, Thank you for your feedback and review. We really appreciate it. You gave us a lot of insight on where we can improve our services! We hope to see you again on your next Chicago trip! Thank you, The Pittsfield Apartments + Suites.

The only thing to recommend this hotel was its position as it was easy to get to all the attractions. Everything else was terrible. The property is in poor condition and the rooms were dirty. On a king size bed there were three pillows. Covers were thin and not warm. There were no extra linens provided. Carpets were stained. Despite the fully-equipped kitchen there were few utensils pots etc and all were old and in disrepair. We had a toilet flood and fixed it ourselves but had to make three requests for dry towels.

I really liked the Pittsfield Apartments, it was comfortable and convenient. I enjoyed the fact that it was private with no room service coming in. But at the same time it would be nice if they provide a few more of the basic things like a broom! Maybe a few garbage bags. Also they should repair the appliance's that don't work properly, like the rubber gasket on our refrigerator door kept falling off and the door would not close and it was pretty disgusting (dirty) to touch' that is the gasket not fridge it was clean although they are connected. All in all the management were nice folks, the apartment was clean and comfortable, beds comfortable so was a great place to stay!

Amazing location, good price, meh place

First, it would be nearly impossible to find a better location for the price. It’s a block from Michigan Ave and Millennium Park, close to restaurants, bars, coffee shops, a Walgreens, etc. For that reason alone I would stay there and recommend it to others. It’s a strange place; you can’t check in until 4:30, and the reception desk located in the 19th floor is only manned from 4:30-10pm. The place is pretty tired, and there’s a strange smell. My room was small, but there was a full kitchen and large bathroom. The carpet was dirty, paint scuffed, a panel missing from a cupboard, but the bed was clean and confortable. A/C absolutely blasted out, and the room got frigid pretty quickly. All in all, it was okay. My friend in another room had another experience: broken tv, bathroom door didn’t close, and toilet didn’t flush (as evidenced by the previous resident’s turd and loo paper). Because she didn’t discover this before the receptionist went off duty, she was stuck with the room until the next morning. So anyway, if you’re not a very demanding or exacting traveler, it’s fine, and the location makes up for most of its shortcomings. Except for the turd.

Buyer Beware

Pros: Location
Cons: Cleanliness -- you will on occasion find things not cleaned -- which can make you wonder...
Like most reviewers -- location is spectacular and the rooms themselves and the services.amenities are what you should expect for the price. The big warning I want buyers to be aware of is the "Property Fee" that you do not see --- except in the toital. They will charge you 50 per stay and this is not shown in the daily rate. The fee descriptions is misleading on this point. If you are staying two nights add 25 to each day. You may determine other hotels with better ratings are now a better option. I will stay here -- but I know it is 3 star at best and has this hidden cost.

Dear guest, Thank you for your feedback. IT gave us an insight on where we can improve our services. Regarding the display of the fees, unfortunately we cannot control how they are displayed on the websites, but we can assure you they are definitely there as we do not have hidden fee. We will investigate this further. Thank you!
