Flight Review

Delayed 1.5 hrs unknown reason

Mar 1, 2020

tooo close of schedule --i had 30 minutes to get to my connection in ATL, had to go to bathroom, by the time I got to the gate they were calling my group, I was literally on the ground in the airport 10 minutes and everything was on time.

Feb 28, 2020

Smooth. Left on time arrived 40 minutes early!

Feb 24, 2020

I was put in an exit row, which I appreciated, although I don't understand why a seat wasn't assigned previously. Appreciated the leg room. The guy next to me hogged the arm rest the whole way and generally was in my space, causing me to have anxiety and asthma issues. The seats weren't all that comfortable. I had no tray because it was in the arm rest under the large man.

Excellent service overall

Feb 21, 2020

The Gate Agent in Cincinnati, Jean (?) or Jeannie (?) was a great help. She made all the difference with her competence and willingness to help me after a flight cancellation. Employees like her will gain you customers, and help you keep them. She was professional and adept. In the past, your gate and counter staff have been unhelpful and their attitude was, basically, "I can't help you." It is impressive to see an improvement. I hope it lasts.

I’m very likely to fly American again. I had a great experience in both the DFW and MEM airports!

Feb 15, 2020

The plane was a bit small, but everything was excellent .

Jan 24, 2020

I’m always a delta customer but I think American Airlines is more efficient

Jan 23, 2020

Easy uneventful trip thanks. Fly back Feb 2nd.

Jan 2, 2020

FAQs about Memphis Flights

Which airlines fly to Memphis?

Spending some time in Memphis? There are 11 airlines that frequent this city. Here are some of the most reliable carriers:

  • Delta
  • Aeromexico
  • Virgin Atlantic
What airport is best to fly into Memphis?

Memphis is serviced by one airport. You'll be disembarking at Memphis, TN Airport (MEM-Memphis Intl.), which is 8 miles (13 kilometers) from the downtown area.

Places to visit in Memphis

So many places to see and so little time. If you're keen to experience what the city has to offer, add the Memphis Zoo and the Orpheum Theatre to your travel schedule. If you get the chance, try to get to the Sun Studio and the Stax Museum of American Soul Music as well.

If you're hoping to learn something new, Fire Museum of Memphis may be worth checking out. Like some more options? You'll definitely spot some fellow tourists in Mud Island River Park, a well-known area with numerous attractions. But that's not all. You're sure to be fascinated by the diverse musical displays at Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum.

How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Memphis

Make your trip to Memphis a little easier by following these useful security tips:

  • Make sure you know the whereabouts of your boarding pass and passport. You don't want to hold up the queue when you're asked to hand them over.
  • You'll have to stop the tunes for a little while. Earphones and headphones must be removed and put in a bin for X-raying. The same applies to items such as coins and keys.
  • Electronics such as laptops, cameras and phones need to be put through the X-ray machine separately. Make sure they're within easy reach.
  • Flying with a new cologne or perfume? As long as it's no greater than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and it's placed in a clear resealable plastic bag, you can keep it with you in your carry-on luggage.
  • Airport security staff may ask you to take off your shoes for the body scanner. Wear a pair that you can take off easily. There's nothing more annoying than having to do your laces up over and over again.
  • Razors and knives are not allowed on board the aircraft. Pack them in your checked luggage to avoid them being confiscated at the security checkpoint.

Flights To Memphis

Although it's the largest city in all of Tennessee, Memphis is also the youngest major city in the state. In fact, it was a planned city formed by the likes of President Andrew Jackson and other wealthy individuals. Fortunately, prices on flights to Memphis don't reflect this wealthy history, and since you won't have to worry as much about airfare, you can spend more time planning visits to local zoos, sports arenas, museums, and even a giant pyramid in the city. In fact, once you leave Memphis International Airport (MEM), it's highly unlikely you'll run out of things to do.

Transportation from MEM

Any flight Memphis residents take ends with a variety of transportation options to get them back home, so why shouldn't you take advantage of the same options? One of the more popular options is to seek out hotels near Memphis International Airport since many of these nearby hotels provide complimentary shuttle services for their patrons. Of course, you could also opt to take a cab, but limo rental services are available if you plan on showing up to the Great American Pyramid in style for dinner, shopping, and a game of bowling. More realistically, though, you'll likely want to take a break after you fly into the city, so if none of these transportation methods is an option, there are various rental car agencies and shuttles for hire at the airport.

Experience the Birthplace of Rock and Roll

You'll experience a little bit of everything in Memphis. You could always start out by seeing where America has come from by visiting the Stax Museum of American Soul Music and the National Civil Rights Museum. The Beale Street Historic District also offers a blast to the past, but if you'd like to stay in the present, you could catch the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedExForum stadium or enjoy a bit of nature at the Memphis Botanic Garden. Wherever your favorite places to visit might be, make sure you start the trip out right with bundle vacation packages to Memphis. Booking on Travelocity allows you to get cheap flights to Memphis, and you can save up to $537 when you book a hotel and flight at the same time.
