"The fact that this was my sixth stay at Mills House says it all. The location cannot be beat. It is very walkable in a safe and beautiful neighborhood. Great restaurants are just blocks away, and the city market is also close by. My five-star review of this hotel speaks of the fine service, hospitality, and efficiency provided by the staff. In particular, Seymour, Hanna, and Mia at the front desk helped make our check-in and checkout smooth. The Mills House just received a huge renovation, which I can only say is outstanding. The lobby/foyer area is comfortable and chic with plenty of space to enjoy a beverage or snack from The Black Door while using your computer or reading. Since the pool area was not open while we were there, we did have a chance to check it out. it looks like it will be a huge hit. It now sports a bar and beautiful seating area along with cabanas. You can even get a room off the pool area with your own patio. Our room was quite comfortable, very clean and homey. The bathroom area had good lighting, and the shower head was adjustable. There are also water stations on each floor where you can fill your thermos. It also dispenses ice……..at no charge. This wonderful hotel has a beautiful courtyard with fireplace and is adjacent to The Iron Rose Restaurant, which offers great food and drink. Gary, (restaurant manager), Sharon, Ty, and Dionne will provide you with friendly, and prompt service. "

"Close to everything. It’s in the historic district but the new part of the historic district. This area has a lot of restaurants, shopping and mostly very young college crowd. If you’re looking for a more historic, quiet, middle age area this is not it. You need to go further into the district. Beautiful area, walkable to everything. Hotel was great. Had everything we needed. I traveled with a friend for 4 days. Fun time. "
