Very friendly and helpful staff, walkable to everything. Only complaint was maid tended to not leave enough toilet paper and towels. Sad that hotel restaurant wasn't open. But would definitely recommend this hotel.

Perfect location. A unique boutique hotel that was very clean, staff was super friendly and rooms were a great size! Hotel housekeeping went above and beyond, loved the personal notes and updates from the housecleaning staff that made us feel they were genuinely concerned with what we needed!

I have to say, I was unexpectedly disappointed. I was hosting friends who always show me a good time when I visit them, so I tried to do the same when they came to see me. I spent a lot of time researching hotels, scouring reviews, and looking at best hotels in Boston lists. Eventually I landed on the Kimpton. I’ll cut to the chase and explain why I ended up feeling embarrassed about this decision: 1. The room was in my name, but I added one of my guests to it weeks before so they would have a smooth check-in without me there. When my friends arrived after long hours of travel, they were unable to check in because the front desk didn’t get the message. I had to call to find out what happened and reservations said that they were able to see my previous request, but the front desk couldn’t. What is the point of putting a name on a room if it is noted in a place where the front desk can’t see it? So we got off to a not so great start. 2. This is minor, but about first impressions—there was a problem with the elevators once my guests were finally able to check in, so they had to ride the service elevator to the room. 3. Because of previous reviews, I knew to ask for a pet-free floor and a park view room. I was shocked to find that we had no real view (just the roofs of some buildings) & as a result my guests kept the curtains closed the whole time. And on top of that we could hear dogs barking in the hallway the entire weekend. It was a really disappointing stay.

I liked the location of the hotel and the cleanliness. Staff was professional and welcoming. I thought the hotel was very compartmentalized in style and very dark and masculine. Expected a larger more grand lobby, restaurant, etc.
