Room was good. The decor is a little dated but for the price it was good. Having assigned underground parking was great despite how tight the stalls are.

Honestly this used to be one of my favorites. This time kind of sucked no hot water for the tub the room stunk and was falling apart. For 200 a night I think I will go elsewhere. The front desk lady was not overly friendly just needs an update . Super disappointed honestly 😪

The room, the staff and the amenities were all terrible. Everything was completely run down. I was shocked. The pull out couch springs were all broken, my friend couldn’t sleep with her feet elevated and head sinking (even though the room is meant to sleep 4 and we were only 2 friends). When I tried to make waffles in the morning with their toaster it caught on fire and the fire alarm was set off(way too old). We called the staff to come up and show them the conditions of the room. We waited 2 hours for someone to come and help, no one ever showed up. So we ended up going to reception after 2 hours of waiting, but they informed us a manager wasn’t in until 3 pm. Our whole day was ruined just waiting to speak to a manager. Management tried to argue the pull out couch was for children only… I wouldn’t even let my child sleep on that couch. No wonder it was completely dead, not a single car or person in sight. Just because it’s Banff and it attracts tourists doesn’t mean you don’t have to uphold basic standards. It’s still a hotel for $$$/night not a $$ motel on the side of the highway. I spent most of my 2 night stay having to search, wait and speak with staff instead of enjoying the mountains. The pictures speak for themselves. I definitely wouldn’t recommend Douglas Fir to anyone.

The key card system kept on getting demagnetized. At first they said it was my phone, however given I wasn’t carrying my phone next to it, they indicated it was likely because it got cold. We spent the majority of our days outside, so if you are doing the same, find an internal pocket so you don’t have to get the card rekeyed. I went to the front desk 5 times during our 3 day stay, which was not a big deal, just an annoyance. It was also generally not updated, so if that is important to you, do not book here. The lovely aspects were the space of the suites and the outdoor hot tub! Very relaxing and beautiful view of Mt Rundle!

We love our stay in the hotel. My kids super love it. The room is clean and we had a veranda with a nice view of the mountain. We got to enjoy the indoor and outdoor pool, the amazing playground and the underground parking lot. The hotel is very close to downtown which we enjoy night stroll and eating on different food places. The staff are amazing too. We highly recommend this hotel and we will be coming soon.

Cupboards are pretty beat up with roughly patched gouges and scuffs. Hinges have springs that fall out and get lost. Fireplace concrete is cracked and spalled with large chunks missing. Front desk staff is awesomely helpful.

Room was only cleaned once after our first night- but cleaning was only changing sheets, coffee and towels, etc. was not refilled. Rooms need new blankets, the current ones are old, thin, and not comfy. However, staff in the lobby were very friendly!
