"We had a mostly great four day stay at the Holiday Inn, Vanderbilt. We enjoyed the amenities and our room was clean and comfortable. However the final night of our stay, our smoke detector started chirping at 1:30 am. We called the front desk and the attendant said he was the only person on duty. We looked for a battery to remove, but the detector was hardwired. He couldn't come look at it and there was no maintenance person on duty. The hotel was sold out, so there was not an available room to move us to, I guess. A maintenance person was eventually called, but it was after we had made the decision to just leave, since it was our last night at the hotel. Even then it would have been an hour or more before the maintenance person could come try to fix the problem. The hotel staff did follow-up and did not charge us for the final night of our stay that got cut short. Glad it didn't happen in the middle of our stay."
