Valet lost car key!!! Scam - beware!

Our stay at this hotel felt like a scam. We were told we had to valet or pay $55 to park across the street. We were charged 3x for one night of parking and then the valet company lost our car key. It took them 5 hours to find our key. They did not provide sheets or pillows for the pull out couch for 2.5 hours. We asked 4 times and received them at 10pm. We were overcharged by Marriott who told us to ask Hotels.com for a refund and hotels.com told us only Marriott could resolve the issue.

The atmosphere of the hotel felt very high scale, smelled amazing, and was clean and quiet. Workers were very helpful. Amazing breakfast! Nice room setup with kitchen and good size bathroom.

the breakfast was amazing and overall we were pleased with our stay. The only problem I had was that the parking was $38 a day and then we were expected to tip at least $7 every time someone parked or retrieved our car. I could not afford to spend the fee to park and an additional $14 every time I wanted to use my car and was even asked directly by one of the valet staff if I had gotten the text the last time after I didn't tip. If you are going to charge guests that much to park their car, you should just pay your staff better instead of relying on additional tips.

Great trip to Nashville

We Loved the Element in Nashville...but rated it overall with 4, rather than 5 stars....more in a bit! The hotel is new and very clean, soothing and relaxing. The modern decor is also warm and inviting. The eco-friendly emphasis was very impressive. The breakfast was plentiful and each day had a special. The complimentry cocktail hour on Monday was lovely.We had not rented a car and found the shuttle service to the main Broadway area,etc. very helpful- nice touch! The shuttle drivers were all very nice and gave us a good "tour" of the area each day. The biggest problem, however, was on our final day when there was NO hot water in the morning....that was rough! The other piece that was a bit disappointing was that when I made the reservations with Expedia/Hotels .com we reserved and paid for a room with a king size bed and sofa bed- a room that could sleep 4. That is not what we got- we had a bed(probably a king, but seemed more like a queen)...and no sofa bed.. and was told that they weren't aware since we reserved through a 3rd party. I didn push to make a change, but found this a bit disappointing. Other than that- we loved the hotel and the front desk people were very helpful and pleaseant always. I recommend it!
