The location of the room was by the alley and dumpsters. We had requested a King suite with balcony and the balcony was not used due to water standing almost 1 1/2 deep on the landing, and the view of the dumpsters and alley was not appealing.

Upon arrival we walked out of the elevator to a floor that had been torn up due to a water break oh yes no water...the remodel was also in full blast which was not mentioned any where the elevator going up to the 1st tower only worked when it wanted to which made it very difficult for me very very disappointed .

Won't stay here again

Pros: Close to some really great restaurants
Cons: The bathrooms are minimal at best; the clerk was rude and unfriendly; parking was outrageous.
Location: Things to do nearby: find another hotel
We arrived at the hotel to find out that parking is $30 per night. Strike one. When I go to the front desk, the clerk, after brusquely telling me to "hold on please," then says, without any other preamble, "We have no rooms available until four o'clock." I tell him that I have a reservation and he repeats, "We have no rooms available until four o'clock, which is checkin time." Strike two. "You're kidding," I say, clearly not pleased. "I'm not kidding," he says sternly. I took his name down; he managed to be almost friendly when I checked in at 3pm, but it was not the sort of experience I would have expected from a Marriott hotel. That night, we discovered that the traffic noise from the street (West End Avenue in Nashville is a really busy street, and the fact that it was a Saturday with a Vanderbilt home football game didn't help) was awful and nonstop. Strike three. The rooms are bare-bones; nothing special, certainly not worth the ridiculous price they charged. We won't ever stay there again.

Overpriced and Dated

Hotel was overpriced for as dated and noisy the rooms are. Level of customer service from manager on down was not at the normally very good level that I receive from the Marriott chain. Ridiculous $30 per day parking charge with no option is entrapment and left me feeling taken advantage of.

Thank you for staying with us! As we pride ourselves on delivering a memorable hotel experience during your travels, we have unfortunately fallen short of our goal during your recent stay. Please accept our sincere apology for the issues you experienced during your stay with us. We have shared your feedback with the appropriate hotel team to ensure that this was an isolated issue that is corrected moving forward. We do completely agree with you in regards to the parking charges, however, Downtown Nashville is growing very rapidly and with this parking in the downtown/midtown area comes at a premium. All hotels in the area do charge for parking as we offer our guests a covered parking garage, and our rates are very competitive for the area. With the Valet only option, which most of your downtown hotels are going to, you are allowed to take your vehicle out as many times as you wish as we do not charge for this, the parking charge is just a daily fee. We are definatley not taking advantage of you as unfortunately this is an area wide fee that all hotels charge and one of the downfalls of a big city with limited parking access. We hope to see you again in the future!

Great Location in Nashville

Comfortable Hotel - Great location near Vanderbilt-- close to variety of restaurants and entertainment. Away from the touristy crowds of downtown -which are just a 10 minute van ride away. Perfect for pleasant stay in Nashville. The onsite "bistro" is okay for coffee in the morning, but you will be eating out.
