Very disappointed that the rooftop bar and pool were being renovated so there was no access which was the main reason I booked the Esmé. In compensation the hotel offered another sister property’s pool but it was .4 miles away which kind of defeated the perk of having a rooftop pool at the property. The service was good and it was nice that they offered two complimentary drinks from 5-6pm. The location was good with a bunch of restaurants right there and it was just three blocks from the beach but the room was one of the smallest I’ve ever stayed in. Very nice that they offered complimentary bicycles which was a great bonus. All in all we had a nice stay but it would have been SO much better if the rooftop pool and bar were open…beware that there is a 45$ valet parking charge which is pretty standard for South Beach…

A boutique experience in one of the most fantastic places in the world. Great room with everything we required. Service was friendly and literally the staff couldn’t do enough for us. The pool was being renovated but the staff went out of their way to signpost alternatives and the many other facilities were easy to access. The rooms were extremely soundproof and the bed was comfortable. We will definitely go again.

Outrageous Hidden Fees

I'll start by saying that the hotel was very nice. However, even though I booked through Hotels.com and at check out it said I would not be charged anything else by the hotel, they charged me an additional service charge and an amenities charge on top of the resort fee. I thought these kind of hidden fees were illegal. I hope people read this review before booking this shady hotel, as your stay here will cost you twice what you think it will. Also, Hotels.com sent me an email before I checked in that since it was a VIP booking, I was supposed to get a free room upgrade and a bottle of wine. When I checked in the hotel claimed to know nothing about that. 100% a tourist trap hotel.

A nice experience

It was a very good experience and the place was nice and clean. There was a leak in the room but it was addressed promptly. The pool, which we were looking forward to, was being renovated when we went, but were offered to use another pool a few blocks away. Not the ideal option for us, but at least it was available. Would have been noce to know at the time of booking. The breakfast and it staff were very friendly and provided great customer service.

Clean room, very friendly and helpful staff, surrounding area is convenient walking distance to restaurants and the beach. They offer reserved chairs at the beach for hotel guests which is a quick walk 5-10 min. however if it’s hot out you have to pay extra for an umbrella, their pool is also off site a few blocks away.
