Roach nightmare
This “enchanting” beach retreat gave us the spring break we will always remember and not for the reasons you would think. The property is exactly as described but missing one very important key feature, roach infestation. Upon arriving at the home we were pretty instantly greeted by these excitable insects that had found their way all over the kitchen and were even found trying to climb the wall to the second floor. Upon sending a message and photos to our host VACASA we then had to wait 24 hours before anyone responded to our request. During this time we were met with these friends that really loved to come out after dark, which is particularly wonderful when making bottles in the middle of the night for our 6 month old. Did I mention we had 5 children with us with the oldest only being 5? Once we were finally contacted, Vacasa sent someone to the home who told us that we needed to begin packing our things immediately and that these roaches were most likely in the walls. We were then told we would be fully refunded for three days of our 5 day stay and they would start finding us somewhere to relocate our group of 11. They had a pest company arrive before we were packed and relocated to our new home which was 90 minutes away and unfortunately a 20 minute drive to the nearest beach. We were understanding of this since it was a busy time of year for such a large group and we re-located to the new accomodations while under the impression that VACASA was going to make this right
