Shared room worked out well

I stayed in a shared room (max 8 people), which was the first time I'd done that anywhere, so I was a little nervous before. It turned out to be a good idea, saved a lot of money, and I got to meet some nice people. Not very private, of course, so whether you'll like it depends on your need for privacy. The room wasn't full, there were only about 4 there at a time. There were 2 bathrooms, each with a shower, so I never had to wait. Bring a lock, they have lockers for your valuables. Also, bring shampoo and soap (but they will provide those if you don't have them.) Bunk beds are somewhat tight but fine for me, I'm about 5'11", a taller person might think the beds are a little too short. The staff were super nice. It's a very old hotel, but clean, lots of charm. The lobby is amazing and beautiful.
Rooftop pool looks great, didn't have a chance to use. Nice bar there too.

We really liked pretty much everything about this place. The staff was super friendly and being DT LA the number of places to choose from to eat was anything but lacking. One thing we really liked was the fact that it was a block from the whole foods so getting things like water and snacks for the room was convenient to do. The rooms had this old time feel but it was in a cute way and didn't give a dated feel. The tile work in the bathroom was great and I think most importantly it was clean.The bed was reasonably comfortable and the pillows were a good quality too. The only complaint I had was that although I understand the price for valet I wish it was included in the room because for a weekend stay it adds 120 dollars to the bill which is kinda wild, but again understandable. If you don't absolutely need it there's a parking structure at 835 S hill less than a block away that was less than one night of valet with in and out privileges. 👌 All in all totally recommend it. All of that to say is we'll be back We didn't get a chance to try the food that was there but it always smelled really good coming in and out

Chic little place

What a cool little place. It balanced chic and the 1940s LA vibe. Spacious room. Great shower. Tons of restaurants within a block or two. Easy half mile walk to the arena. Easy walk to Jewelry District too.
