However the property is literally only 150 meters from the main tourist area, but in a quieter and relaxed area of Gourock and has EVERYTHING you could possibly wish for whilst you're enjoying your holiday time. And best of all, it's all on your doorstep. ( 2-3 min walk )
A car isn't necessary as you have everything you need within walking distance.
However if you want to really see the Beautiful west coast of Scotland and get out and about, then a car is recommended

The Ferry terminal (foot passengers) is a short walk away, while the car and passenger ferry is just a short drive away. There are regular buses from the town, taking you to Glasgow and around the west coast area...

Dunoon is also accessible in only 20 minutes by one of two ferry routes from Gourock. The Western Ferry takes cars and passengers and runs up to 4 boats per hour. Buses run throughout the day from Gourock to the centre of Glasgow.

Last minute cancellation (Owner cancelled while we were waiting outside to check in)
The owner cancelled our 4-night stay while we were sat in the car outside with a carload of groceries! Completely unacceptable. Although we got a refund, there was no time to get suitable lodging for the remainder of our stay in Gourock. Paul left us stranded on the street with nowhere to go at 4pm on a Thursday night.

A great visit to Gourock.
The property is a beautifully renovated flat in an old stone building. The location is very convenient to the train&ferry station and to shops and bars. I think the neighborhood is in transition. Some buildings are under repair. I found it a great location to stay while visiting for vacation or business.
