With so many lakes right in the heart of the city, it can be difficult to know where to start. If you enjoy hiking, head for Lake Harriet five miles south of Downtown. The idyllic three-mile loop circles the lake and adjoining parkland with family beaches, a rose garden, and boat rentals. Naturist? Hidden Beach at Cedar Lake is notable for being the only nudist beach in the area, although you rarely see people in their birthday suits. The busiest lake is Lake Calhoun, which is within walking distance of Downtown Minneapolis hotels. Minnehaha Falls, six miles southeast of Downtown is a striking waterfall in the middle of an urban setting. The subject of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem "Song of Hiawatha," the Falls are a mesmerizing place to watch torrents of water plunge 53 feet into a gorge. "The woman with long hair at the desk who checked us in was snippy and unhelpful. Her hair covered her name tag. The rooms are hard worn, water pressure was terrible, doors are dinged, the flip lock on the door was hanging by the screws. No remote in the bedroom for the TV. Had to call for it. The pullout bed had one pillow and the case left for it barely fit it and there should have been two pillows. The blanket was very worn. Parking was tough, double parked cars waiting on 6th for valet so we walked it with kids. The breakfast was very good and the kids enjoyed the pool but at 8:30 am only 3 towels were left to use."

"Cambria is a wonderful hotel. The fees of parking and eating at the restaurant add up though so I would suggest adding 50$ per night to cover that expense. However the front desk was fantastic The room was amazing, great view, great bed, great shower :)"

"Hotel was clean overall but wifi was unbelievably slow. The room next door was blasting TV at 2am, so I had to call the front desk. Not sure if maybe the walls are just thin. No complimentary water bottles"

"The parking situation is insane. $50 for valet parking or else you had to walk 4 blocks to self park for $25. Better instructions should be given in advance as to where to go. There was no ice bucket, no freezer, no microwave, bottom of the toilet seat was dirty, crud around the shower door. Breakfast was nowhere near what was described. The view from the room was a brick wall. Very expensive for what was offered. "
