The Cambria Hotel Minneapolis Downtown offers a good location and contemporary room design, but these positives are heavily outweighed by the core negatives. The combination of loud first-floor rooms, dirty windows, and terrible internet speed made for a consistently uncomfortable and frustrating stay. Until these fundamental issues are addressed—especially the noise and connectivity—I would be hesitant to recommend this hotel for a relaxing or productive trip.

Love that there is no carpet or curtains! I’m a bit of a germaphobe. Only complaint is it wasn’t very clean around the back of the toilet and along the edges if the bed.

The front of the hotel was inviting, however the parking lot behind the hotel felt very unsafe. After looking at the parking lot we decided it felt too unsafe to stay there. When I called the hotel to tell them I wouldn’t be staying there (ie they could fill it since I wasn’t coming), the young man argued with me that it was perfectly safe (“I’ve been here 10 months and it’s always safe”). I ended up paying for another hotel room 15 minutes away. I would NOT recommend this hotel.

One night stay.

Unfortunately there was loud music playing outside of our room most of the time except for a few hours at night. Apparently the next door bus station trying to keep homeless people from sleeping there. Was difficult to get sleep and hear television, etc. We ate at the restaurant. Food was subpar and it took over 1 hour to get our order. There were only about 12 people in the restaurant. Waiter was very good. Also online, it showed breakfast was included, but when got there were charging 12.99. The room was very clean and large. Beds were comfortable.

The hotel and its amenities were good The surrounding area did not seem safe, nor were there many open restaurants. The area is still recovering from the riots surrounding the death of George Floyd.

Do not stay here if you're on the first floor. The noise from the bar, particularly on a busy sports night, is almost unbearable as the sound of screaming drunk people will keep you up until the wee hours of the morning. In my case, it wasn't just noise from the bar, as people were walking up and down the hallways screaming team chants and on multiple occasions did it right outside my door. The worst part is that if you complain about it, you will be told "people are just having fun, so just deal with it". When I went to the front desk, to tell the clerk that the noise was out of control and was saturating the entire floor, the attendant smuggly replied "I really doubt that, as you're the only person complaining about it". Meanwhile, the drunk crowd behind me, many of whom had been at the bar for 5+ hours at that point, started yelling so loud I couldn't even hear what the clerk was saying. I was told that my room "really shouldn't even be there" and that "it's just normal fan behavior that I needed to deal with". As a big sports fan myself, when I replied that in my opinion what was happening went beyond normal fandom, and was a lot closer to drunk and disorderly, the clerks reaction was to give me a pair of ear plugs, tell me "what are we supposed to do, tell people to calm down" and then pretty much told me to get over it. Unfortunately, this scenario that unfolded completely ruined the stay and forces me to leave this very negative review.

The staff were friendly and attentive. The neighborhood just on the outskirts of downtown had a lot to be desired. There were what felt like unsavory characters hanging around the hotel’s parking lot just outside the hotel. That said, I did not feel threatened or unsafe but maybe they can isolate the parking a bit better.
