Parking was a little tight, I have a long bed Ford, and it was a little tight. I suggest dedicating spot 5 & 6 to trucks. Airconditioning worked great.

I had booked two rooms for a Friday night until Saturday morning. My sister and I flew into Boise early that Friday morning for a service that was to start at 3 pm that afternoon. Downtown Boise Hotel Guide\n
You hear it in your dreams: the soft whisper of the breeze through the dense leaves of trees. You imagine yourself roaming a misty forest, listening to the chattering of squirrels and the soft, mournful calls of birds. Open your eyes, traveler: you’re here. Not in some fantasy woodland conjured up by an aspiring novelist, nor the lost territory of some lost king in an unnamed European nation. No, friend, you’ve come to perhaps the last place you expected: Idaho.
Here’s a secret few know: Boise, its capital, is known as the “City of Trees.” And why not? This remarkable locale seems draped in greenery, a veritable city within a forest. But it’s not all outdoor adventure and dreams of knightly tasks, though those things are certainly options. You’ll find a wealth of modern amenities and activities set within the verdant beauty of the woods when you book one of our downtown Boise hotels.
Of course, we don’t expect you to roam about a new place without learning a bit about it first. What is there to know about Boise, besides the status of its marvelous foliage? Read on and find out.
What are some places to eat in downtown Boise?
You’ll find plenty to tickle your culinary senses in the downtown area. If it’s polished silverware and an elegant sit-down experience you’re after, explore the offerings at Brickyard Steakhouse or The Melting Pot, on Main and Sixth Streets, respectively. Those searching for the perfect glass of wine would be well-served at Snake River Winery on Broad Street. Coffeehouses and bakeries are well-represented; walk along Main Street and you’ll find delightful offerings at Alia’s Coffeehouse, Goldy’s Corner, and Guru Donuts (a word of advice, traveler: try the lavender white chocolate. It is simply divine).
There are a multitude of other eateries to help you find exactly the snack or meal you require in your time of need. Seafood, pizza, and plenty of cultural specialties are scattered throughout the city center. Our Boise downtown hotels are located near several of them, including The Grove Hotel, which is only a couple of blocks from Main Street.
What is there to do in Boise, Idaho at night?
While much of Boise’s identity is tied to its nearby forest, there’s also a healthy dose of revelry to be had when the sun sets. Resume your adventure in the downtown area, relishing the bouncing nightlife. Relax in The Red Feather Lounge with a craft cocktail or dance at until the sun comes up at The Balcony Club. If a flight of beer is more your style, you’ll find a number of breweries like Edge Brewing Company or Cloud 9 Brewery, with its organic beers. Or simply savor a few of your favorite craft brews on tap at Bittercreek Alehouse and the dog-friendly Pre Funk Beer Bar. Nothing tops off a day of hiking better than a cold one and some pub grub.
When it comes time to sally forth from your everyday life, trust Travelocity to help you reach the City of Trees in good order, and with minimal expense. Seek out downtown Boise rentals, such as the Red Lion Hotel Boise Downtowner, and reserve a room that will keep you in the center of everything. Enjoy the city life, friend, but don’t forget to wander through the forest.
