Christmas vacation

The property is beautiful, and the owners extremely kind. They were quick to respond to any questions we had, made sure to keep water running to keep it from freezing, and even delivered cookies to greet us! I’d love to stay again.

Wonderful Vacation!

The hosts, John and Mary, were absolutely wonderful and incredibly helpful. The house is cozy and comfortable, with everything you need. The surroundings are spectacular-the landscape, the dock, and the river were all beautiful. I had the best vacation with my family, and even my dog had a great time!

A Dangerous and Disturbing Experience – Stay Away!

A Dangerous and Disturbing Experience – Stay Away! My family had a deeply distressing and dangerous experience during our recent stay at this property, which we booked as a refuge from Hurricane Milton. With mandatory evacuations already in effect, we booked the property on Sunday evening, knowing options were scarce. We arrived at around 7 p.m. and made the unfortunate mistake of not bringing our belongings inside immediately, opting to go get dinner instead. Around 9 p.m., I received a voicemail from the owner stating, "You cannot return—the property is no longer available." Confused and concerned, we returned to the property at approximately 9:15 p.m., only to be confronted and threatened by the neighbors. Terrified, we called the police for assistance. By this time, my wife and son were in tears. The police instructed us to wait at the end of the driveway, but things escalated further. The property owner began stalking us in his truck, shining his high beams on us while sitting behind our car—an absolutely horrifying moment for our family. To make matters worse, we had no cell service, and the property was located about 10 minutes down a many dirt roads with no lighting. We were essentially trapped, forced to wait for the police to arrive and escort us to safety. There’s so much more to this nightmarish experience, but I’m limited in characters. Consider this your warning: stay far away from these Hosts!!!

Riverbend retreat

We had a nice stay at the Riverbend house. We were greeted by John upon our arrival who went over the property and local places of interest. The swiftly moving 66 degree Suwannee was a bit cold for the adults but the kids and our Labrador didn’t seem to mind. It was a nice convenience having a boat ramp on sight. The house was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. It’s a great place to just get away

What a great experience!!!!

Everything about this listing was absolutely amazing. The house, property, amenities, location and property manager are at the top of our stays (and we travel 3-5 times per month)!! The owners were attentive but not overbearing. Quick responses! Not to mention Marys cookies were amazing! We will be back!!!!!

Great getaway spot right on the Suwannee

We had a great experience on the Suwannee. From our guided drive to the house to the freshly baked cookies waiting for us when we arrived these hosts definitely have their guests in mind. The property has plenty to keep the kiddos busy and the house is cute and comfortable. I have already recommended this property to others.

River Wonderland

From the moment you walk in John and Mary have homemade cookies, a note and a welcome sign with your name! This home had everything you needed for your stay. The river was high, but you could still get out and play. The kitchen was fully equipped. Bed rooms where big , everyone had their own bathroom. My mother who is 89 came and could sit on screen porch and watch us play. We will return and hopefully rent out all three for family get together. And also having basketball court, horse shoes and tether ball was great for down time! Thank you for letting us share your home

Getaway with Friends

This is a great place in the Suwannee River. Secluded but as close as 45 mins to bigger towns and things to do. Comfortable stay for 8 with 3 beds and 3 baths. Hosts John and Mary are great! Can't wait to stay again with grand kids!

Relaxing home on the Swannee River.

We truly enjoyed the home and park like grounds. The dock was perfect for watching the sunset over the river and hearing and seeing Bard owls. We loved the screen porch, perfect for listening to the frogs and watching for water fowl, and a lovely site for dinner and games in the evenings. Comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen made for a sweet vacation with friends. We also enjoyed the many kayaking options nearby as well.

Thanksgiving Birthday Getaway

We had a wonderful time paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing & swinging every day. Relaxing by the fire pit each night. The property was well maintained and the owners were a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend and will be booking again for next year!

Gorgeous, well-appointed home on the Suwanee River with dock

This is a beautiful property on 6 acres bordering the Suwanee River. The house is stocked with everything you need to rest, relax and have fun - large, well-appointed bedrooms; puzzles & board games; quality dishware & soaps; loads of kitchen utensils for cooks and amongst other DVDs, an awesome chick-flick collection! John and Mary are experienced vacation-rental owners and it is clear that they love what they do. The grounds include a basketball court (with balls and even an air pump provided!), shuffleboard, fire pit and of course, a beautiful covered dock on the river. The magical sunsets combined with the exotic flora and fauna create an almost mystical experience. This is a special home and I hope to return again with extended family.

Excellently relaxing

My family and I spent the weekend kayaking on the Swanee River and relaxing to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We all had an excellent time. John (the owner) ensured we understood our surroundings and answered all our questions. I would recommend this location to anyone interested in making your stay what you want it to be.
