"Great Deal, Excellent Location!"
This hotel is in a perfect location, just a block away from Union Station and no more than a 1/4 mile to the Capital building and the National Mall. We arrived very early before check-in time and the staff was very helpful in letting us check our bag so we could carry on with our days activities without having to carry luggage around. We didn't return to the hotel until well after 1:30 am, the desk guys were very friendly even at that hour, they got our bags, got us checked in, and even gave us some menus for late night snack deliveries. The room was perfect and the bed was comfy. A great night sleep after a very full day and woke up refreshed for another full and busy day.

"Class Act"
Upgraded to Suite overlooking park and White House upon arrival. Stayed two nights. At at hotel restaurant first night and food and service was great. Small error was made on sauce requested on Red Snapper but manager voluntarily comped the entre and provided free desert. Concierge staff was fantastic with dinner reservations and even booking hotel reservations for us for a July trip to Istanbul. Room service was prompt. Room itself was one of the most attractive we've ever stayed in with warm neutral colors and good light from the double paned windows. Would definately re-book on next trip to DC.

"Luxury in ideal location"
My 18 yr old is starting her 2nd year at George Washington University and we miss her back in Florida!. had to come see her for a long weekend. The Fairfax is ideally located for foot travel from Foggy Bottom to the Smithsonians to the White house all the way over to my favorite( NPR)... After 10 hrs daily on foot the Fairfax was a joyous reprive, I couldn't get my ten year old out of that heavenly soft bed....

We really enjoyed our stay at the Garden Inn. The only issue we had is the valet only parking. It was a little inconvenient at times. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay there again.

"Great hotel in great location, but with minor room glitches"
I very much enjoyed my stay at the W Washington DC (although the hotel still is not widely known by this name, instead being referred to as "the Washington Hotel" by several taxi drivers). As a walker, I enjoyed that the hotel was centrally located for my visit, making a pleasant walk to many venues, including the Convention Center. It is less than 3 blocks from the subway, making access to most every part of the city (including the airport) very quick and easy. I did, however, have several complaints arising from the room's shower, which apparently leaked substantially each time it was used. The first time (a quick mid-day shower following a red-eye flight and before rushing out to a Nationals baseball game), I didn't notice any water until after returning from being out all day, and so when I discovered a small wet area of the bedroom rug, thought I had simply spilled some water without realizing. But the next morning, after my shower, I noticed water again, and thought perhaps I hadn't properly closed the shower door. But the third morning, while preparing to shower (having started the water), I noticed an area where water had already started seeping through back of the glass shower enclosure. I placed a hand towel at the corner, thinking that would be enough to address the issue. That was nothing, however, to the giant puddle that had formed in the front of the shower unit during my shower. Being a good sport (and with several large towels available), I cleaned up the mess and reported it to the front desk. Problem 1 - After telling the staff member that the shower was leaking, he asked me "Did you tell anyone about this", to which I replied, "That's what I'm doing telling you." He promised to get engineering to look at the problem, and when I returned later that day found a sign indicating engineering had, indeed, come and fixed the problem. Problem 2 - Unfortunately, the next morning I discovered they were wrong (or fibbed), as several more towels were needed to keep the floor from becoming a wading pool. Kind of frustrating service.

"Great hotel in the perfect location"
This hotel was great. It was my second time staying here and it was just as good as the last. The staff is very polite and willing to help you. I had a problem with my air conditioner at 11 pm and called the main desk. 15 minutes later, an engineer was there to fix the problem. The location is great. The metro is just steps away and Big Bus tours stop across the street.
