"Nice location"
Great location close to Metro station and many bars, restaurants and shopping. Rooms were nice, clean, quiet, staff was great. Might not be best for young kids (no pool or casual restaurant) but was great for me and my 17-year old. Would be great for buisness travel as well. Would have liked a formal concierge staff, but the front desk staff were helpful.

"delightful surprise"
I'd been staying at another hotel down the block for many years (I come to DC once a month for work). When that hotel was full, I book at the Lombardy. What a pleasant surprise. The hotel itself is full of old world charm; the restaurant and bar have a friendly, clubby feel; the room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable. My only complaint is that the walls are very thin. You can hear every noise in the hall. But luckily, it wasn't a noisy couple of days at the hotel. I will definitely stay at the Lombardy again. For value, convenience, and comfort--you can't beat it.

"The Hotel Staff was very kind and helpful. "
The Hotel was nicely located in DC and you could walk to everything. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very attentive. The young lady that came to turn our bed down at night didn't understand that we wanted an extra blanket, but it was okay. I would caution the breakfast is super expensive, so I would plan to go elsewhere. Additionally Sunday night in that business section of town will have fewer food choices available as they cater to the work week customers. The concierge did get us an earlier reservation at a local steak house that was delicious.

"Beautiful hotel conveniently located "
The Hotel Monaco is a beautiful hotel with warmth and charm. The architecture was stunning and the staff was lovely with whom to interact. My hotel room was clean, very comfortable, and I was surprised how quiet it was given the hotel's busy location. I would highly recommend the Hotel Monaco to anyone visiting the DC area. It is conveniently located and the amenities exceed those of most other hotels.

"Sweet Little Hotel in Foggy Bottom"
My granddaughter and I stayed at State Plaza Hotel for 3 nights during our March 2017 sightseeing trip to DC. The hotel has a very good location for public transportation. It's near the corner of Virginia and E St., which has a Metrobus stop and is only 4 blocks to the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro Station. We were able to easily reach all of the National Mall, monuments, museums, Chinatown, etc. from there. It is near the heart of the George Washington University Campus (interesting for my teen granddaughter to see) and the GWU Hospital. The only downside for some might be the frequent ambulance and police sirens because of the location but it didn't disturb our rest. Next door is a liquor store and a 24-hour CVS. Nearby there's a public-accessible GWU student area, with a Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins, Pita Pit and Potbelly Sandwiches. The hotel has a Garden Café which is very nice. They offered large salads, fish & chips, chicken quesadilla, pasta Bolognese, crab cakes and more. Good quality, fresh tastes, nice atmosphere, quiet. They had a bar and a selection of dinner wines. Prices were neither inexpensive nor extravagant for DC. While the building itself seems older, our bathroom/room was very bright and clean, modern, tastefully decorated and had a very comfortable bed. Modern elevator, if somewhat slow. Bottled water is delivered to your room each evening with a note wishing you a peaceful rest. Nice touch. Great staff. Would be very happy to stay here again.

"Great Neighborhood Location"
I stayed at the Kimpton Carlyle Hotel while attending a convention. It's a great boutique hotel within a neighborhood. Upon entering the hotel, the hotel staff was friendly, attentive, and quickly helped me get my bags up to my room. While I was checking in, I was invited into the lounge was right off the registration area. It was their 5:00 happy hour and I was immediately invited, welcomed to join and get a drink. The room appeared to have been recently remodeled. It was very nice and clean. I have never paid much attention to the carpet in the room but it had a beautiful design and did not feel like a hotel room carpet. The hotel also had a restaurant that you could eat at the bar or get a table. The burgers are great!

"Great hotel close to major conveniences"
This is one of our favorite hotels in DC. It is convenient to the Metro, close to Georgetown and not too far from DCA. The room sizes are more than adequate. We always travel with one or two older children, so adding an extra bed was no problem. The staff is very friendly and responsive. It also has a nice workout area with nicely updated equipment and good space...not crammed like so many city hotels.

" At the edge of King Street… "
This is a well positioned hotel. At the base of King Street you are able to shop and visit many of the stores and small restaurants all the way to the water. My only reservation is that the showers did not have enough water pressure. The overall comfort, friendliness, and cleanliness helped me overlook the low-flow issue. It was worth every penny though! Thank you to Kimpton hotels!
