A step back in time

I absolutely felt like I stepped back in time staying at the hotel . The staff, room and dining were excellent . Aesthetically, I admired the vintage charm and character

delightful surprise

I'd been staying at another hotel down the block for many years (I come to DC once a month for work). When that hotel was full, I book at the Lombardy. What a pleasant surprise. The hotel itself is full of old world charm; the restaurant and bar have a friendly, clubby feel; the room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable. My only complaint is that the walls are very thin. You can hear every noise in the hall. But luckily, it wasn't a noisy couple of days at the hotel. I will definitely stay at the Lombardy again. For value, convenience, and comfort--you can't beat it.

Good hotel, great location

Pros: Location was great. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts in the hotel's restaurant were good.
Cons: Windows could have screens, rooms should not smell like a perfume factory (they shouldn't smell like anything, pillows could be thinner
Location: Convenient to Dupont Circle, GWU, and the Whitehouse. The Mall and the zoo are also within walking distance.
My wife and I stayed here for a weekend and we were generally happy with the hotel. The location is excellent. Dupont Circle is only a few minutes away and both the mall and the zoo are reasonable walks if you're up for walking around the city. The room was in good condition and fairly comfortable. Our room had a fairly strong air freshener scent when we arrived, so we opened the windows to get that out. The good news is the windows open. Bad news is they don't have screens and there are a few mosquitoes in the area. The bed was comfortable, though we would have appreciated thinner pillows or a range of pillow sizes.

Excellent service, excellent location

The Lombardy is out favorite place to stay in DC. It's not the newest or grandest hotel but we find the location convenient & the staff courteous . It's impeccablely clean and the cafe quite good as well.

Close to the Federal Complex

Pros: The room sizes.
Cons: Staff customer service
For the price, Hotel Lombardy could use some improvements: 1. The front desk staff weren't very friendly and rather apathetic when came to addressing simple requests. For example, I wanted to check-in early and was willing to pay extra (an upgrade). Without checking, the person at the front desk was just "we can't". Two hours late I tried again. My friend was staying on the fifth floor and the cleaning lady was half done those rooms by then. So I asked about the 5th floor and the front desk person says "but those are an upgrade". Really? She was clearly not listening the 1st time and just didn't care to try. Later, I was looking for a package that been signed for that couldn't find. I had to come back 30 minutes later and show them proof that the package had been delivered for them to really *try* to find it. 2. There was hair in the tub and on the floor in the bathroom. The rest of the room was pretty clean. 3. Bellhop had a guy waiting for anyone who needs a ride. Not sure who the guy is or if he's affiliated with the hotel, but he was upset with me when I decided that he seemed shady and didn't want to take the chance with him in his vehicle. 4. Rather noisy during the wee hours of the morning. Especially closer to the alley in the back. Overall, if you don't plan to interact with the staff at the front desk or the shady guy in the black SUV you'll probably enjoy your stay. For the price of the room, I could have stayed with my favorite brand and been 100x happier.

Incredible hotel along the amazing Pennsylvania Av

Pros: Incredible staff, cleanliness, and location!
Location: A mere 4 blocks from the White House, close to some great pubs, restaurants, and sights! We would most definitely stay here again.
My family and I flew to DC for the first time to attend my grad. school graduation ceremony. We chose Hotel Lombardy due to the great reviews and ratings. We all concur as the facility was truly top notch. 5 stars all the way!

close to everything

Cons: don't eat in the café in very expensive and not very good the sausage was the worst I have ever put in my mouth I was told it was turkey then pork bad
we were able to walk to most everyplace but was a lot of walking, I think it would take awhile longer to find good places to eat, riding the subway was easy to get around for places to far to walk, seemed lake it was very safe area.
