Amazing Hotel, Great Location!

Pros: Location, front desk staff, festive atmosphere, very comfortable rooms. The lobster roll!
Cons: The staff in the round robin bar was nothing like the staff in the rest of the hotel. They were at times very curt and bordering on rude.
This was a fantastic experience from the time we arrived till we checked out. Such a festive atmosphere and all of the staff were wonderful. Perfect location and what a wonderful time of year to be in DC.

Grand Hotel

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, historical hotel
Cons: No free Internet
What a beautiful grand old hotel. We had a huge room. Wonderful location, just two blocks from the Metro. A block away from the White House and within walking distance to the Mall and all of the Smithsonian Exhibits. We got the room with breakfast, which is in the restaurant. It's buffet, but they will make eggs to order or oatmeal. This was a good deal as breakfast is otherwise $25 per person. There's a Corner Bakery next door on 14th and F that has a very good fast breakfast for a lot less $$. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't realize you needed advance time limited access tickets for the Holocaust Museum and the Concierge got us free anytime tickets.

The hotel staff was kind and eager to help

Cons: No free Internet
Everything was really good. Great location to sights and restaurants. The one thing that was bothersome was that the cleaning staff forgot to leave clean glasses. Beautiful hotel and nice staff.

The hotel staff was excellent and the location was great.

Pros: good location, veryful good staff
Cons: No free Internet
For the price, our room was rather small. The bed was o.k., but average in comfort. The staff was very helpful and the location was close to everything.

Great location, classical styling, professional staff.

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet, Noisy
If you don't mind a higher price, this hotel is a good choice. The location is very convenient. Afternoon tea is excellent. Some renovations going on at the time of our visit in January 2012 -- on the second floor of the hotel, and in buildings adjacent to the hotel. Street noise from renovations at the adjacent property kept us awake the first nite of our stay.

Elegant and Historic Hotel

Pros: Close restaurants, historic hotel
Cons: No free Internet
We enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room was large, but we only had one small window. The bathroom was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The price was a little high, but the location was great. We used the concierge to help us find a nice seafood restaurant for dinner and was very pleased with the advice and assistance. We will likely stay again if we have a need to be in the area overnight.

hotel is older and "king" room is very small for the high $ per night incl. tax

Cons: No free Internet
the hotel has older character, but I'd like a more modern shower and overall more space; I paid top dollar but didn't feel that I got that much for my money

Elegant Hotel in Great Location

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Stayed a week at the Willard and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is very close to many fine restaurants, a block from the White House, 2 blocks from the Metro Station, and only a 10 minute walk from the Mall and the Smithsonian Museums. Our room had a view of the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial and the WWII Memorial. The service staff is excellent, from check-in at reception, the bell staff, the concierge and housekeeping. The room was very well lit with plenty of closet and drawer space. The bed was comfortable and the hotel room was so quiet I never heard any noise the whole week we were there.
