Booked 3 nights here to ride out the heat wave because my HVAC broke down at home and I have a very busy work schedule. The self checkin was straightforward enough, and the room itself was clean, and everything worked well, at least for the first two nights. I arrived back from work on the third night to find that there was no power, due to an outage in the entire town. The water in the hotel runs on an electric pump, so no water either. There was no human staff at the hotel at all, just a sign at the counter with a phone number. When you call the number, you realize that you are only speaking with an AI chatbot. I called twice for information and got the SAME unhelpful generic response from the chatbot. 20 minutes later an actual person called, who informed me on the situation and assured me that the power would be restored in maybe 20 minutes or so. After waiting an hour in a hot room, no power or water (I use a CPAP), and an early work assignment the next day, I had to decide to pack up and leave and made other arrangements. By email, the manager flat out refused to refund the missed night, blamed me for “not being patient,” and had an extremely callous and accusatory tone. This hotel is in a very remote area, and severe weather can cause blackouts. Unfortunately this hotel has NO backup power, not even to at least run the water pump. In an emergency, there is only an AI chatbot, and very unhelpful staff on the phone afterwards - you’re on your own after that. BEWARE!
