The Palace hotel was a luxury splurge for us to wrap up a first trip to Tokyo. It was worth every penny. The room was very comfortable and the staff were very supportive. Though it ended up only at $20/day per person, for me the spa was not worth it. Especially the women's side only has a small sauna and bath.

It was very convenient adjacent to the imperial palace not too far from gion. The staff was lovely and the rooms were large they’re also several restaurants to choose from. I would put it on a par with four seasons

This is why it is considered the best hotel in Japan (and one of the most expensive). It is a hotel with a lot charm and elegance without eccentricities or “new rich” amenities. One of my favourites worldwide.
