I've stayed at the Prince Shinagawa Hotel a couple of times when traveling on vacation to Japan. Both times were my last day of vacation, traveling back from southern Japan and basically staying at this hotel because the Narita airport limousine bus would pick up from here. This hotel has always been the most expensive of hotels that I've stayed at in Japan and not nearly the nicest of those hotels. I think you can find much better value in other places.

Wonderful hotel

We had a great experience here, and the service was excellent. I forgot something at the hotel and they very graciously mailed it overnight to the next hotel we were staying at.

Overall pleasant experience

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Rooms are clean. Most of the staff speaks some English. There are computers with internet access in various languages near reception. Major train station across the street. Very easy to get to and from Narita Airport. Not the most luxurious hotel but it is safe, comfortable, and easy. I do not speak Japanese and experienced no problems.

A wonderful hotel with very accomodating staff.

Pros: Close restaurants, lots of entertainment in the hotel itself
Cons: No free Internet
The staff spoke a decent amount of english so communicating was easy enough. All the amentities were great. Rooms are small but thats traditional for Japan. I slept on that bed and didnt even remember dreaming. Their beds are super comfortable. All Japanese channels on the TV but I had my ipad to watch movies on. The best parts Right across the street from a major train stop A great movie theater with stadium seating on site A bowling alley on sight Tons of places to eat and shop Late night places open A gift shop Very friendly staff and very welcoming. Only bad part was the room size but again tradional for Japan

Excellent value for the money.

Cons: No free Internet
The East Tower is a Japanese businessman's hotel most convenient to the Shinagawa station, just across the street.

Nice place but expensive.

This hotel is located across the street from the train station in Shinagawa which makes it very convenient. The room was characteristically small for Japan but comfortable. We didn't find too many reasonable places to eat around it--most were quite expensive. No wireless at all and you had to pay extra to use the pool!

Basic but so convenient!

Pros: Close restaurants, convenient to public transport, friendly staff
Cons: No free Internet
This was my second time at this hotel.I chose the more basic North Tower but there are more plush options to be had.The really good thing about this hotel is that it sits right across the street from a Japan Rail station which makes it super quick and easy to get wherever you want by rail. There's also shopping and entertainment and of course food right there plus two nice grocery stores and a 24 hour convenience store making it easy to eat cheaply.I would definitely stay here again.

Great location and value

Pros: Close restaurants, great views, close to station
We stayed at the Shinagawa Prince for four nights upon arriving in Tokyo. The rooms are a very good size for a Tokyo hotel and the beds were the most comfortable we encountered during our stay in Japan (most hotels have very firm beds). The staff speaks fluent English and the hotel is right across the street from Shinigawa station, near several restaurants and a 7-11. They even have a free shuttle that stops directly in front of the station entrance if you have a lot of baggage. We were in a high floor king room in the main tower. The view was great, we could even see the mountains from our room on a clear day. There is wired internet available in the room. I believe it cost 1000 or 1200 yen per the log in screen, but we were not charged when we checked out.
