The Knot is in Shinjuku but on the quiet side. It can be a little confusing to find metro entrances and figuring out the best exits but it’s convenient to major lines. We also used the 51 bus. From Shibuya to the hotel is an easy route. The breakfast made our days better! Started off long days of exploring Tokyo with a delicious breakfast and the variety allowed us lots of variations in meals. Not luxurious but comfortable and good value.

We enjoyed our weeks stay. The room was small but served our needs. The beds were comfortable and the shower/bath was really good. Very lively lobby and restaurants made the hotel feel friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet is definitely worth adding. We enjoyed it every morning and found the variety was enough to keep us happy. The food is excellent quality. We also ate in the restaurant several nights including the rainy cold night we arrived from NYC. Only minus is the advertised laundry room is very small for an entire hotel and was always busy. So factor that into your stay.

Not the greatest stay for us unfortunately. I understand Shinjuku is meant for the nightlife, which I thought we wanted to experience but ended up not being for us. The environment would be better suited for younger people who are going out drinking and partying. The lobby was a chill place to hang out with music, place to eat and chat. Had 6 sets of washer/dryer but did not auto-add detergent. The hotel is quite far from Shinjuku station, approximately 20 minute walk. There are quite a few homeless along the common routes to the station and is a bit more dirty than the rest of Tokyo. With that said, there’s a good bakery in the lobby and is close to the airport limousine pick up spot for when we had to leave to Haneda airport. The room uses a numpad lock instead of cards, which was a bit finicky at times but served its function. The room was much more spacious than most Tokyo hotels so that was great. However, they only clean once every 3 days if you care about that. Also, if you put the do not disturb sign they do not leave toiletries outside your door like we experienced with our other hotels in Japan. But the dealbreaker for us was that there was no A/C. This was my fault for not checking when initially booking. They did provide us with a fan and advise us to open a window but again, another inconvenience. If this was summer, it would have been unbearable. Overall, it was just an average stay and speaks to the regular service and rooms we are used to getting in Japan.

I had mixed feelings about this hotel. It’s clearly a very popular place to stay, and its dining options are excellent—high-quality food and a lively atmosphere. However, the rooms themselves are quite plain and small, and noise travels easily from the corridors and adjacent rooms, making it a noticeably noisy stay. The location is pleasant, right next to a wooded park, but not especially convenient. There’s quite a bit of walking required to reach the nearest train and subway stations. Overall, it was a good experience, but the rooms are very utilitarian and may not suit travelers looking for comfort or quiet.
