Great location, very nice hotel

Pros: Large room, good location.
We stayed at the Keio Plaza for five nights. We had four people in two rooms and they were able to provide two rooms next door to each other on a non-smoking floor. The hotel was very nice, extremely clean and comfortable. The rooms were very large compared to other hotel rooms we stayed in during our trip to Japan. The hotel is conveniently located near the Shinjuku train station and also the subway line. There is an underground tunnel from the train station to the edge of the hotel to use in case of bad weather.

Luxury Hotel in the Western Shinjuku Area

Pros: The hotel is conveniently located to one of the largest hubs in Tokyo. Nearby you will find transportation, dining, and shopping.
Cons: The wait for front desk service could be long if there is a large tour group being processed. There seem to be a fair number of tour groups here.
Location: Tocho-mae station one block away should you not want to make the 8 minute walk to Shinjuku station. Otherwise, plenty of shopping and dining options.
Stayed in a Plaza Luxe double. We had two different rooms of this type and both offered a view of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and a clear view of Mt. Fuji on most days. The rooms were well furnished and the bathrooms were large. While there are no laundry facilities located in the hotel, the Shinjuku Wash & Fold is roughly 15 minutes away offering full service laundry options at a very cheap price. Nearby conveniences include a post office which is open until 9:00 pm. Packaging supplies may be found at the Sekaido across the street or visit the Tokyu Hands across the Shinjuku Southern Terrace. Nearby dining options include an array of restaurants closer to Shinjuku station including your favorite flavor of conbini. If you are afraid of the language barrier, there are even restaurants which use vending machines allowing you to pay and choose your meal without having to interact with wait staff. Simply look at the examples displayed in the window, put in your cash, and take your ticket to the cooks in the back. We would stay here again.

Looks are deceiving is the underlying theme here.

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: outdated
Hotel is very grand upon entry but rooms are fair at best. AVOID the south tower like the plague. it is something out of the 70's with a musky smell. I had to call down to the desk to complain in order to get switched over to the main tower which has been renovated a bit. Don't confuse internet service with wifi b/c that is not available unless you request for a wireless router which needs to be booked otherwise it runs out. We tried checking in prior to 2pm and nothing was available. Upon return @ 5pm it would appear as if the front desk had trouble locating a room. Not sure if they try to fill the south tower first but like i said, AVOID it like the plague. It is however, a convenient location but we paid 270 a night which is no where near a good value to compared to other accommodations.

A-class hotel

Although I was unable to book a non-smoking room as I would have preferred, the one I got was at least tolerable for this non-smoker. Otherwise, my stay was very pleasant. The standard single room's decor was a bit past its best but certainly serviceable, with a most comfortable bed. I loved the amenities, especially the space-age commode and the electric kettle that supplied hot water for tea constantly. The hotel itself has numerous shops and restaurants, some of which stay open late (convenient as many Japanese establishments close early by Western standards), and is situated close to the enormous Shinjuku Station and many other shops and sites. The staff is unfailingly courteous and efficient. Definitely a five-star experience, worth every penny.

Consistent

This is my third stay at the Keio Plaza and it was just as I expected. There was excellent service from a sincere staff, and my checkin and checkout were quick and professional. It is in a good location, near Shinjuku station, and there are many places to eat in the area.
