Above and beyond!

The Cerulean - ah, how can I find the words? I'm afraid that if I truly say what I think about this hotel, then no one will believe me. I only write reviews if something is really good or really bad, nothing in the middle. And this hotel is excellent. It is the best hotel I've ever stayed at, inside or outside of Japan. And I've stayed at quite a few 5 star hotels. It has many things other 5 star hotels have - great views (ours was of the Tokyo Tower skyline), nice pool and spa, etc. The difference is in the service. The people here seem to genuinely care about you and do their best to accomodate you. We went to the concierge desk every morning to find out directions. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, including print outs. Several times, the staff would open the elevators for you, then bow to you when the doors close. We paid for the breakfast, which was really good. One day, it was sunny enough that we could see Mount Fuji from the restaurant. The staff had left binoculars on a stand in case anyone wanted a closer look. Just gorgeous! If you want to be in the Shibuya or Shinjuku area, you should stay at this hotel. It's wonderful and we would stay here again when we come back to Tokyo.

Great location!

Pros: Location, contemporary yet simple design, large rooms and comfortable beds, amazing view of the city.
Location: Walking distance from shops and transportation; the famous Shibuya Scramble, Shibuya shopping district
My family and I agree, when we come back to visit Tokyo (and we will!) we can't think of a better place to stay than the Cerulean Towers Tokyu. The room we stayed in (we stayed on the 26th floor (King + Guest Bed) was large and had an amazing view of the city, with the same view from the bathtub. Best of all was the location of the hotel which was about a 8-10 minute walk to the Shibuya Crossing and lots of places to eat and shop. A 4-minute walk from the hotel would also take you to the Shibuya train station. There is also the convenience of having a 7-11 store right inside the hotel for 24/7 convenience. I'm sure there are cheaper places to stay in Tokyo, but this hotel turned out to be an excellent choice for our family.

Nice hotel near train station

Cons: The carpet in the room needed to be changed.
Location: We really enjoyed being within walking distance to the station where we would begin our day trips to other areas of Japan.
We were greeted with friendly hotel staff and a nice view from our room overlooking Tokyo city and we also could see the famous Shibuya crossing. We recieved a welcoming gift of fresh strawberries and a nice letter from the hotel manager. The room was pleasantly spacious and the bed very comfortable.

convenient location and spacious rooms

We stayed at the Cerulean for five nights, after deciding to extend our stay in Tokyo. The front desk staff were exceedingly hospitable and upgraded our room for the second half of the stay when we had to switch rooms to a lower floor. Both rooms had amazing views over the city and were the biggest of any hotel we stayed in during our two week trip. We had two negative experiences- first was our experience having a late dinner in the lobby floor restaurant after we checked in. Our server seemed to have no idea how to open or serve a bottle of wine. Second, the top floor bar is completely filled with smokers and while there is a "non-smoking" section, it is not really far enough away from the bar to make a difference. We couldn't take the smell, so sadly we did not get it enjoy the view up there.

Great Tokyo visit!

Pros: The rooms and service was great. Located near Shibuya Station which made it easy to explore the different areas of Tokyo.
Location: Location is great, easy access to trains to explore the different regions and sights of the city.
Tokyo was a great experience -lots of people, sights, shopping and food options. The temples were amazing. There are huge department stores everywhere with food markets in the basement. Don't miss the Ginza region and Toyko Sky Tree- if you want to shop until you drop. The imperial gardens were wonderful as was most of the landscapes in Toyko. We had a blast at the Robot Restaurant to see the robot show, it was very different and lots of fun. Customer service everywhere was always excellent.

cerulean tokyu

Lovely hotel in a fantastic area and well worth the price. The only drawbacks were that amenities, such as the pool and high speed internet, were fairly pricey ($*/day for the pool and fitness facility and $* for a lan connection). The service was excellent and the room was beautiful. We had a view to Mt. Fuji. The only drawback on the room was that, in the hot summer heat, you couldn't regulate the air-conditioning at night so it got pretty warm by morning. Still, we'd certainly stay here again in a minute.

Outstanding hotel in the heart of Shibuya!

The location, service and rooms were excellent. I have been to many hotels in Tokyo and I must say that this one is outstanding in all areas---from the front desk employees to the porters. The room size was very large and the view was amazing. The Shibuya train station was just a few minutes walk--there is a second floor walkway that goes across the street, which makes it very convenient to get to the station without going up and down the stairs! In addition, there is a 24-hour 7 Eleven store on the second level where you can purchase just about everything you need for your stay. The concierge was extremely helpful in mapping out directions to places we wanted to get to--either by foot or train and subway. Overall, our stay was a very pleasant one and I would definitely stay there again if I had the opportunity.

I would highly recommend this hotel. Get the deal to stay on FL33+ get free breakfast and 1/2 to the gym- ""tea times""-well worth it. PROS: Gorgeous Hotel in the BEST possible location in Shibuya (trendy, young artist crowd; drug culture though- one person passed out in the street and the police couldn't even get him to wake up; another girl was oddly sitting in the middle of the street with cake on her face for hours)- still I felt perfectly safe. Eager Service w/limited English. Amazing Views; Large bathroom w/TV sound-nice! Well thought out yet somehow they forgot a switch to a fan! Safe in the room. CONS: THEY NICKEL AND DIME YOU- $36 USeach for a limited but quality breakfast (free w/package 33rd floor) Porters swarm you- most ""Japanese"" don't expect a tip- others just might! Gym (pool/weights) 2100 Yen per person daily (half if you get the higher floor rate package). Hard to locate too. I thought this was a total rip off BUT actually the pool / hot tub / sauna is fantastic. Locker room has blow dryers, clothes spinner (removes water), free toothbrushes, combs, razors, etc! The charge keeps the crowds out- nice and private! They don't validate transfers from Nakita airport- about $30 each way per person- 1 hr ride. No fan in the bathroom. No top sheet...its part of the comforter- gets washed separately- apparently a Japan thing. They don't wash linens, towels daily to save on water ""if you stay multiple days."" Small shampoo bottles- it was pulling teeth to ask for more in English...just got a blank smile. Air conditioning was hit and miss in the halls. Room AC was ok but I like it colder- 68Fmax. Business center CHARGES 500+ Yen for 15minutes- plain room with 2 small laptops-ridiculous.
