I should start with what we liked about this hotel - the breakfast. The coffee was quite tasty, and the variety of breakfast items (Western and Japanese) sufficient. Now, the reason for my two-star rating. We were uncomfortably hot in our room for hours. The air conditioner was turned off on two separate dates during our stay. The explanation of Front Desk was that some guests were too cold, so the hotel turned off the AC, and only the air was circulating and not certain when AC would be back on, and that a floor fan were available for guests who request it. Then a few days later, the weather turned cold. We were uncomfortably cold in our room because this hotel has AC only until certain time of the year then changes to heating system. The notification inside the elevator said the heater would not be available until October xx, which was after our check-out date. In my opinion, Hotel dictating when the AC and heater will be turned on and off and allowing the guests to become so uncomfortable is unacceptable. Another surprisingly uncomfortable feature of this hotel was the bed we had to sleep on. The king size bed in a Comfort King room sits on floor level, and it was cumbersome to get in and out of it. My eighty-something father told me in the morning he slept on the couch halfway into the night because he had trouble getting in and out of bed to use the bathroom. I felt terrible and regret getting a Comfort King room for him.
