Quiet Oasis in Shinjuku

Pros: For me, the location and quality of room amenities is why I return, at a good price if you get lucky, particularly week days. This particularly true
Cons: The lackluster breakfast is expensive at $18 a pop and lackluster.
Location: Shinjuku offers a wide range of shopping, dining at east of Isetan Dept. store.
The Sunroute Plaza Hotel in Shinjuku is has consistently been a terrific, high quality, experience with a room that though small, has great amenities and is ideal for the solo traveller who wants to be centrally located and uses the JR Train line, and the subway system. I've stayed there three times. The hotel is nicely tucked away out of the more insanely crowded areas of Shinjuku, and yet once you leave your room you could be in a train within 15 min if you walk fast. I have always succeeded in getting a room on the top two floors which are quiet and if you get a room toward the front of the building have a great view. It's an easy hotel to find and has a convenient entrance if your friends want to lick you up in a car.

Location, location, location.

Pros: Room is tiny, as all Japanese rooms usually are, but efficient, with everything you need. Room was very clean; hotel staff are accommodating.
Location: Located near a very large subway station (Shinjuku Station) as well as the JR lines (train lines).
This was our third stay at the Sunroute Hotel Shinjuku. We find the location just can't be beat, and there are other perks as well: the airport shuttle (Limousine Bus) drops off here, which is nice when you are tired from a long flight and just want to take the shuttle right to your hotel. The Ghibli Museum Tour started at this hotel - it was an amazing tour made easier by the fact that we were already staying here! Easy walking distance to our favorite bar, The Watering Hole, and to lots of shops and eateries, as well as one of the biggest subway stations.

Good bargain

Pros: Location and price.
Cons: Room was very small, but I suspect typical for Tokyo and the price we paid.
Location: Shinjuku is a popular place for young people. Many places nearby to eat and shop.
This hotel was very conveniently located and close to the subway. The room was small but clean and the hotel staff was helpful. It was a good bargain for Tokyo.

Very convenient

I stayed at this hotel for just under two weeks and I loved it. The location was very convenient and an easy walk to both the shinjuku station and the yoyogi station. The staff was very helpful and was able to answer all my questions. Also, I liked that the hotel rooms and the lobby have wifi which can be hard to find in Tokyo. The next time I visit, I would definitely consider staying here again.

Great Lobby and Restaurant!

When you enter this hotel, it's fantastic. Beautiful, spacious and a great atmosphere. The restaurant is very pleasant and has a nice ambiance. Our room was on the 5th floor, and like many overseas hotel rooms, quite small. We had a double bed, which took up 75% of the space. The bathroom was adequate, but the shower/bathtub was a type of fiberglass insert surround. Not as nice as tile by any stretch. The room did have the basics and was very clean, with the exception of some stains on the carpet and luggage marks along the wall. The window was large and let in a lot of natural light, although our view was expectedly 'not the greatest' and consisted of neighboring buildings and roof tops. WiFi was not working, and the computers in the 2nd floor lounge were too slow to be able to use. We were able to rent a loaner laptop for 10 Yen a night, which was ok. The staff was very frendly and the location is convienient. Overall a good place to stay!

Fine chocie

Pros: Free Internet
This is by no means a posh place. I would equate it to Marriot's Courtyard. The room was clean and decent sized especially given that it was Tokyo. My son and I were here just short of two weeks. They provide all that you need. Slippers, PJ's, soaps, little hot pot, an ironing board/press, there were also little brushes, toothbrushes, even Q-tips. Deep tub. The elevators were great. I never waited too long even during busy times. As soon as you push the button it tells you which elevator will be yours. Right next to the subway stop too. Family Mart across the street and short walk to JR. Cons: Internet in room in not wireless. Starting show a little wear in room.

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: Poor breakfast
Omg I'm so glad that I stayed in this hotel in July! The staff was so helpfu, I sprained my ankle on my second night there and they helped me out alot. Also its so clean and looks fancy and the location was too perfect like the stations right on the corner, also if you're going clubbing there's a McDs on the corner too open 24/7 for those drunken munchies haha
