Very convenient for airport limo bus from narita and right across the street from ikebukuro station for easy transfer on trains. Breakfast Buffett is pretty good although to expensive at $31 cad. Staff is very accommodating and area is close to lots of restaurants

Four Night Stay May 2025

Four night stay in Tokyo. Ikebukoro is not in the most touristy area of Tokyo, but this hotel is literally a 2-minute walk to Ikebukoro subway/train station and we used the subway throughout our entire 4-day tour of Tokyo. This hotel was recommended to me by a friend who comes to Tokyo often. Quiet at night, super swanky bar on the Mezzanine level. Breakfast buffet each morning was over-the-top fantastic. My kids had a ball. The bell desk used Yamato to send our big luggage bags ahead to Kyoto for us (total cost $30 USD for 2 large bags) which allowed us to travel on the train to Kyoto with only small carry-on's. Also, the "Airport Limousine" bus to/from Haneda/Narita stops literally in front of this hotel. Very easy if you are taking the bus to/from your major Tokyo airport.

All of the staff were extremely courteous and helped us with everything from booking taxis to forwarding our luggage to our next stay. Although I speak decent Japanese, most of the staff were able to help answer questions in English as well. We would love to stay here again!

Great place to stay for first time in Tokyo. If you are looking for a place to stay where it is not busy but still convenient, I would recommend staying here. The staff were all very helpful

The hotel was situated nicely for us. Easy to walk to the subway system and also to Sunshine City where the Pokemon center was. Breakfast was more Japanese but was very good.

Have stayed at the Metropolitan quite a few times. It is a very reliably good place to stay. They have a lot of room amenities (I cannot remember them all from our stay last month but I recall being impressed). It is close to the subway lines. There have a lot of staff in the lobby to help visitors. Ikebukuro has a lively vibe and lots of restaurants and department stores.

I had a very satisfying stay here as the hotel is conveniently located for my needs. The staff are professional and efficient. I was upgraded to floor 23 (booking was for floor 16 to 21) but in a similar room. I was able to get a check out at 1pm, an hour later than the usual check out time of 12 noon, though only after I agreed to pay the required 2,000 yen. The only issue was the lack of power outlets close to the bedside to charge the phone overnight while having it within reach.
