"First off, I just want to say the staff running the place was very helpful and courteous but in the first room we were given, 2 of the lamps werent working which we found out were outlet issues. We were offered a second room which I thought would be better. Not so, the door did not lock, the hair dryer didn't work, the toilet cover was broken, there was a squishy part in the floor of the bathroom and both rooms didn't smell very good. We asked to have the manager call us about these issues the next day but that never happened. I will never stay at a Super 8 again. "

The hotel itself is charming and full of character, with each room being unique. We stayed in the one-bedroom king room with a hot tub and absolutely loved it – the jets were perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The bedding was the comfiest we’ve ever slept on, making each night a dream. The decor is quirky and old-world, and the heritage property is beautifully maintained. The high ceilings and spacious rooms added to the feeling of comfort and elegance. We highly recommend Decker Hotel and Bar to anyone visiting Maquoketa – it’s a warm, welcoming, and memorable place to stay."
