I would have given it a perfect rating but the lack of cable TV, especially ESPN during the National Championship game was disappointing. Had the weather been half way decent, it would have been great. We definitely plan to return to Gilbert Inn in the future.

The made fresh fir you breakfast was great. The only thing I would change was that our room was right next to the reception desk

Lovely old inn, some rooms a bit small to allow generous private baths for each...Delicious breakfast...one block from the glorious beach...good restaurants within a few blocks of the inn. = 😁♥️👍

If you're looking to stay in an old house, this one will fit the bill. The rooms were ok, but not particularly well maintained . One of the baseboards in our room was just leaning up against the wall and not nailed in, the walls had scuffs, the doors were brown around the knobs, tv wires were hanging down and messy, etc. A magic eraser and 30 minutes with a maintenance guy would have made all the difference! With the exception of Leo, the person who cooked breakfast, the rest of the staff was really unfriendly and fairly rude. We were not greeted once. They did not explain the breakfast ordering process. When we asked questions they were fairly dismissive and short. They closed the front desk early while we were there. The most helpful people were the other guests. We helped another couple with after hours check because they couldn't get ahold of anyone.
