The location of this VRBO is excellent if you want easy access to Balboa Park and nearby restaurants. It is right across from the park and very walkable, which was definitely a plus. The Wi-Fi was also extremely fast and reliable.That said, future renters should know that the unit is directly under the San Diego airport flight path. The owner was forthcoming about the airplane noise, but I personally was not prepared for just how disruptive it would be. Opening the windows or trying to enjoy the patio was difficult because of the noise. The sound is muffled quite a bit in the living/great room area on the ground level, but it is much more noticeable on the upper floors.The kitchen is described as a “chef’s kitchen” and “fully stacked,” (which I believe is a typo for ‘stocked’) but I found it lacking some basic items I would have expected, such as a baking sheet, a 9x13 baking dish, a standard cheese grater, and a full set of measuring spoons and cups not to mention sharp knives.Overall, the location is convenient and the owner did disclose the airplane noise, but the noise level and kitchen stocking are both things renters may want to consider before booking.
