"This hotel was not up to the standards of other Palace Resorts I have visited. We stayed for 8 nights along with three other families, and all were very disappointed. First off, I reserved a "Superior Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony" and was given a room with a roof view, and slim view of ocean. After speaking to the front desk about this I was moved to a different floor and given a room that was one room down from one of our friends who paid $800 less for a "Deluxe Resort View with Balcony". So needless to say, I am not pleased. I would recommend you do not spend extra for any "ocean view" as you will likely be given a view anyway. Food and drinks: There was not a single day that we did not hear multiple times that they "ran out" of something. They ran out of "mango" for the mango martini of the day, did not have mint for mojitos and claimed it was a "hotel-wide lack of mint", ran out of strawberry mix for drinks, did not have pina coladas...one day they ran out of tequila, rum and water at the same time in the bar! Restaurants: Service is very slow and once again they consistently claimed to have "ran out" of things on the menu. Since we were a large group the day we had hibachi, we split between teens and adults. Well, we got beef and the kids (two tables down) were told there was no beef. It felt like they were taking advantage of the kids sitting alone. Another day at the same restaurant, the restaurant manager went to take a break and sat at our kids table!"
