We stayed two (2) nights after visiting Universal Studios. Beds were extremely hard and could not sleep. Also, no housekeeping for two (2) days. Breakfast was good and fair amount of variety. I don't think we would stay again.

My stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Orlando Universal Area was okay, but there were a few issues that impacted the experience. The customer service representative at check-in was not very friendly, which wasn’t the most welcoming start. In addition, the toilet in our room had not been checked after the previous guest — it did not flush and we had to call maintenance to fix it. On the second night, we returned around 1:30 AM and the elevator was not working. There were no clear instructions posted on how to access the stairs, which was frustrating late at night. Thankfully, the elevator was working again the next morning. Overall, the location is convenient, but there are definitely opportunities to improve guest service and room checks prior to arrival.

We were in the “deluxe” room, # 249, Feb 13-16, 2026, which is in the 2nd building across from the main building lobby. When entering the building, the odor was horrendous. The AC was not on in the hallways leading to the rooms which amplified the stench. The best way to describe it is like a giant pile of old dirty sweaty gym socks. On entering our room the stench was the same but stronger. I went to the front desk and main lobby and they sent someone to spray freshener on the walls and curtains. There were no available rooms to switch to. The spray helped somewhat but wore off by the next day. We kept all of our clothes in our closed suitcases to make sure the stench didn’t permeate our clothing. The cleaning standards are very low. I have pics of the nasty toilet that would barely flush and the dirty baseboards. They clearly just don’t care or have any standards. I even saw a small bug (alive) on the nightstand. This hotel badly needs a complete refresh w new carpet and tile, and painting throughout, at minimum. I have stayed at other LaQuintas that were very nice for a basic hotel but I will never stay at this location again. The actual location is decent as you can walk to Universal, but not good enough to compensate for the poor condition of this sad, dirty hotel. I would have changed hotels if I could but everything was booked for Presidents Day weekend. I had no idea this was such a popular travel time for the parks. Be forewarned.

The rooms were outdated nothing like the pictures advertised. The ac had to be turned down to 64 just to feel cool. No real hot water the first night. Someone’s hair on the bed the first night we checked in. A muggy smell throughout the room and hallways. Floors need more cleaning. I would not stay here again and book through you all. I feel like for the price it was too much. Should’ve been less and didn’t feel that safe with my room being in a separate building from the front desk anyone could walk in unnoticed.

The room wasn’t the cleanest (my allergies were terrible from the dust), the water pressure was weak and the beds were too firm. We didn’t sleep well. It’s an affordable place to stay close to Universal, the breakfast was decent and the staff was very nice but we wouldn’t stay here again.
