This is the Place for on the Beach Living!

Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: Elevators & remove the Time Share Staff
Location: Close to everything!
Staying at the Outrigger was an amazing experience. The room was nice and comfortable. The breakfast buffet at Dukes' each morning was yummy. The front desk staff, the Valet, and the housekeeping staff were very helpful. We had two complaints . . . One was the elevators, they were extremely slow!! We felt like we wasted 1/3 of our vacation waiting for the elevators. The other was the Timeshare staff. They posed as hotel staff, after listening to them for 20 minutes and getting excited about some of their options, we found out they were selling timeshares. They stopped us multiple times a day, luckily we figured out what they were doing the first day so we were able to say, "No Thanks" and keep walking for the next 8 days.

Close to the beach good food downstairs

They should at least get you an umbrella and a couple chairs on the beach when your staying at their hotel and paying between 300-800 dollars a night

Excellent value!

My wife and I went to Hawaii for our tenth anniversary. I am one of those research everything online and leverage other people's experiences, so I made my decision for where to stay based off of that. The outrigger, as far as facilities is a pretty awesome. The staff and overall experience were amazing. The onsite eateries were very good (Chuck's) to amazing (Hula grill). The others (Duke's and Pai) were great. Service was great at all of them and prices were about what expected. The pool and beach were clean and staff were great to us. Could it have been better? Yes. It would have been hard and my experience couldn't have been much better... If we go back to Waikiki, this will be my first choice. As always, YMMV so do your research!

Loved this place and would return again :)

Gorgeous view room and location . Pool on the sand and Dukes is right below :) I stayed at 3 hotels this week and 1/2 wish I stayed the entire time at the outrigger Waikiki beach . Don't get this mixed up with the outrigger reef . I feel that ones too far from everything . Priced well and so worth it . Friendly staff and polite . Spacious bathrooms and boats right out from in the sand . I researched a lot of places and far the best hotel on the beach for your dollars . Would highly recommend it and come back soon . I work for a corporation and needed the relaxation this was the place to do it . You can walk to everything including shops , bars and restaurants. Wear flip flops

Pricey average room but great location

Pros: Location
Cons: Better understanding of what an "ocean view" actually means on the online provider's website would have set a more realistic expectation.
Location: The 360 degree view from the Top of Waikiki restaurant was breathtaking and the food as very good.
For the price the room was disappointing. It was my husband's birthday and I wanted to surprise him with spending more than we normally would so I booked an ocean view room through an online provider. Most of the view was the side of a nearby hotel with a peek-a-boo view of the ocean. I guess it was better than no view at all. The room was very average but in retrospect assume we were paying for the location. Employees were polite and helpful. I would not spend this much to stay there again. Disappointing.

Our Ocean view rooms are situated on both the east and west sides of the building with views of the water as well as the city from spacious balconies. Nice hotel on the beach

Nice hotel but beware of undisclosed charges. Ended up with a 300.00 bill upon checkout for "connection fees" What kind of 200.00+/night hotel charges for Internet

Great Hotel! Dukes Restaurant? ... Not so much!

Pros: Great Views. Right on the beach.
Cons: Duke's Management and Staff! See Experience review above.
I booked my family (three rooms, 9 members) over 1 year ago to celebrate my 50th wedding anniversary with my wife. We had decided last year that we would celebrate our 50th anniversary dinner with my family at Duke's. My wife was really looking forward to this. When we went to make reservations at Dukes shortly after hotel check-in for 7 p.m. dinner for nine for the following evening, we were told that Dukes does not take reservations but if we were hotel guests, we could call in 20 minutes before arriving to check in. We informed the manager that we would still be at the Polynesian Cultural Center in North Shore, but we could call from there to check-in. She responded by telling us that we would have to call in at least by 4pm and ONLY from our room phone. She would not accept a call not made from our room phone. I told her that it was a very special dinner and that calling from our room phone was impossible as we would be at North Shore until at least 5pm. Her unbelievable response was "Sorry, that's the best I can do" Well, we had a very nice celebration at another restaurant in Waikiki, but I will never forget, or forgive the way Duke's treated us on our 50th. Shame on Duke's!
