"New York City Experience"
My daughter and I have made several trips to NYC and we've always ended up having to rent in Brooklyn. We don't particularly care for Brooklyn, but that was the cheapest we could get in cost. Until I found Pod 39! We've stayed there twice now and we absolutely love it. It's very clean, comfortable, affordable, and very close to all of our favorite locations. I have recommended it to friends and family, and I will continue to do so. I love Pod 39!!

"Wish I could give *more* than a 5"
Some folks don't have NYC hotel experience. We do. It is tricky to find a hotel that is not noisy, with a decently sized room and a convenient location. The NYLO has all this and more . We could access Central and Riverside Parks, museums, the wonderful, historic Beacon theatre. We saw a major rock band (Steely Dan) play there ... 3 blocks from the hotel. No problem with a Fire station being nearby ... to occasionally see big red truck 40 pull in and out. Hotel had funky, warm, friendly vibe. Staff was usually prompt and courteous. Our 12th floor room was clean, modern and perfectly quiet. Could not have been more comfortable and better pleased with our choice of the NYLO. Four thumbs up!

"Nice hotel, convenient location, pleasant staff."
Hotel is very conveniently located, offers ease when checking-in and a pleasant environment. Our stay was pleasant and enjoyable after experiencing a little stumble with room, on first day: Window in the room was drafty on a very cold day; water spilled onto bathroom floor when taking showers; wall radiator heater in bathroom - heating too intense. Situation was immediately remedied by hotel staff switching us to another room.

"Wonderful Service and Amenities. "
We were greeted with wonderful customer service and a trip to the pantry for some refreshments after a long day of travel. Our room was very impressive, the room was very large in comparison to other hotels in the city and extremely clean, great view and location. My only regret is that I didn't take advantage of the pillow menu. When it was time to checkout I really didn't want to leave. The Shelburne Affinia is at the top of my list for my future visits to the city.

"Only place I would ever stay in NYC "
First for starters as soon as you arrive you a greated by the door/ luggage men and they all every single day were super nice and helpful and gave good recommendations exp Juan he was awesome! Another awesome thing is I booked the room for the wrong starting day so I needed a extra night, the hotel was sold out but rather then just tell me that they helped me find a hotel close by for the night. Once we checked in the front desk staff was nice and the room was a great size with a great view of time square. Everything was super clean and nice and modern. We wish we got to enjoy the our door patio bar area but it was a little to cold. This will be THE only hotel my wife and I will stay at when we are in NYC!!

"Great location"
Great location, awesome staff but room is extremely small and bathroom is not very user friendly. No shower door and very cramped. paint peeling in the bath as well. Very expensive for type of room offered and they charge for everything including coffee and internet. The charge for internet is per device which is really ridiculous! The rooftop bar advertised was not open and the weather was decent. the fridge is stocked but VERY expensive. Bottle of wine on the desk was $38 for the small bottle and $80 for the regular size. Of course I didn't purchase anything! On the plus side, there was a Starbucks directly below and a drug store that sold water. Drinks at the bar were $16 a piece!

Really lovely hotel with a wonderful, authentically sweet and accommodating staff! L'Amico for dinner is ridiculously delicious! Really. It is. The Vine is more relaxed and has a great lounge, where you can luxuriate through brunch (while you get over your New Year's Eve hangover...) Love it! Jason is the best!

New York Pet Friendly Hotel Guide

Looking up at the Manhattan skyline, your daydreams begin to take shape. They’re no longer vague hopes, no, now you can see them becoming a reality. As Ol’ Blue Eyes could attest, you’re gonna start spreading the news and your vagabond shoes are longing to stay. In a city that never sleeps you can accomplish anything; will you design the next Empire State Building? Anything is possible. Skyscrapers glisten in the afternoon sun, and as you glance down at your four-legged friend, she wags her tail with approval. She would like to take a bite out of the Big Apple, too. With so many pet-friendly hotels in New York City, you may just have to stick around for a while and let her try.

Does NYC have off-leash dog parks?

Yes! You will find places for your pooch to roam free in all five boroughs. From Henry Hudson Park in the Bronx to the Juniper Valley Park in Queens and the East River Park in Manhattan, your dog Anderson Pooper will be happier than can be when he sees how many green spaces are available to him in this concrete jungle. You are also allowed to take dogs off-leash in Central Park between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. and again between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. At all other times, your pup must be on-leash but is still welcome in the park. With lots of trails and green space, spending a day with your pooch in Central Park is just about as quintessentially New York as it gets.

Are there any casinos in NYC?

Yes, the Resorts World Casino in Queens is within NYC city limits. It’s the only casino in the city, and you’ll have to leave Fido at home. With so many New York pet-friendly hotels to choose from, your pooch will sleep comfortably while you win enough cash to afford a new stock pile of rawhide.

How do I get from Newark to New York with my pet?

Small dogs are allowed on both the AirTrain Newark, which delivers you to Penn Station, and the Newark Liberty Airport Express. Dogs must remain in carriers. You can also get from Newark to NYC via rental car. If you plan on taking a trip to upstate New York or neighboring states while you’re on the East Coast, a rental is a good idea. If you’ll be sticking around the city, taking public transit to NYC makes the most sense; most dogs in carriers are also allowed on the NYC subway.

Whether you’re headed to the Big Apple to linger in side streets and stop in unique boutiques or explore the many dog parks, dog-friendly hotels in New York City are offer comfortable accommodation for everyone in the family. Even four-legged guests will have the time of their life at The Plaza Hotel or Hotel Pennsylvania. Bring a dog bed and get cozy, then endeavor to find out if the city ever sleeps. We call that wandering wisely.
