I got a good deal on this hotel for a 6 night stay. I starting reading reviews after I booked. Between the poor reviews and the price I got, I was extremely nervous to stay here. It’s a very old building however the hotel is very nice, clean, bug and rodent free! The staff was very friendly as well. I arrived late, around 8pm so I ended up with a room on the third floor. There are no elevators which is common with old hotels. They offered to move me down the next day but I declined the offer. I didn’t mind the stairs other than having to get my suitcase upstairs the first day. I had no major issues during my stay. The shower sometimes took a few minutes to get hot and could have used more light in the shower stall but wasn’t a huge issue for me. The location was great and in a quiet area. I was extremely satisfied with my stay for the price I got, if you are looking for a 5 star quality hotel, this isn’t the place for you. If you want something nice on a budget and don’t mind some stairs I would recommend this place. It barely got up to 70 degrees so I never used the pool area so I can not comment on that but it looked nice. There is no smoking on the property so if you smoke (which I do), you have to go out the front door or face a $250 fine for smoking in the quart yard. I visit the FQ two or three times a year and like to visit a different hotel each time. This is one of the better ones I’ve stayed at as far as cleanliness, bugs and rodents go. If I would stay again.

Beware of room 105! I’ve never slept on such a hard bed in my life. I woke up with sore hips & shoulders from sleeping on my side! Bring slippers as the floor is exposed bricks & not very clean. The location is great the staff was friendly but the room is what you pay for !

What I didn’t like is that I was given the worst room they have. My next door facing the door from the outside, to my left is the sidewalk of the street. The street is a busy street and the noise was unbearable. The hop on hop off & shuttle bus stop was too close to one of the windows. Needless to say, I hardly slept. Out of 4 days stay, I was only able to tolerate 2 night, and not by choice.

A charming ancient hotel that is well taken care off with a friendly and helpful staff. Its close proximity to the French Market is an additional plus. Overall, a great place!

I booked through Expedia/travelocity for a deluxe double room for more room. When I arrived to the hotel to check in, they gave me a single room. I went to have this corrected only to be switched to a standard double. Online this type of room was significantly cheaper than the one I paid for. The clerk working front office blamed the mistake on Expedia and said he would only switch my room if I paid even more money. When I contacted travelocity about this discrepancy, they blamed it on the hotel, of whom is still stating I received the correct room. I will not be booking this hotel directly or indirectly through a third party ever again!!!! No matter what you pay, they give you whatever type room they feel like! Don’t waste your money!!

Hotel was in a great location so we were excited about our stay. The parking fee was reasonable. Upon arriving i was put in a room that didnt accomdate my whole family. Was forced to pay an upgrade fee, even though I called them and they specifically told me my room would sleep 5. The new room had a couch but it wasnt big enough for my son and to get a cot it would have been an additional fee again. Continental breakfast is a joke. All it was was gas station muffins and old coffee. I chose a room with a breakfast so it was one meal i wouldn't have to worry about and that is all it was. Very disappointing. I was charged double for my first night and after speaking with 5 different people nobody has been able to resolve the issue and tell me exactly what it is that they can do to fix it. Staff is poorly trained at computer system and were unable to answer the simplest questions. My 3 night stay that was quoted at 408 plus taxes and fees turned into 792! Almost twice as much. I will never again stay at this hotel and i will advise anyone considering it to go somewhere else.
