Lovely looking Victorian building only a short walk from Motherwell station. Very clean inside and well presented with pleasant staff. I booked a single room, which are all on the 2nd floor. My room had only a Velux roof window, which didn’t open and stiflingly hot! So no fresh air circulation, and very little natural light. There was a tower fan provided, which was much needed, and I needed it on all night to cool the room temperature. Can’t comment on the restaurant as I only had drinks, not food. I would stay again, bit I’d spend extra to get a double room which I presume have better air circulation and natural light.

Air conditioning needed

Staff were amazing, great rooms, food was lovely. However the rooms were really hot as Scotland was having a mini heatwave and the rooms have no air conditioning. The hotels is on a noisey main road so we could open the window..

We had a great stay here, from checking in to checking out. The staff were very friendly, very comfortable bed. We were pleasantly surprised to have a bath as well as a shower. The breakfast was excellent, cooked to order. We also had dinner, which was very good too. The hotel was a short walk to Strathclyde Country Park which was a very pleasant walk.

Relaxing great place

I was here for a couple of days and once again pleasantly pleased. I find this hotel so relaxing, staff so friendly and I always have an excellent relaxing time. Breakfasts are great and nothings is too much. I do find evening meals a bit up and down.

Our third stay at the Moorings. Convenient location for meeting family. Lovely old house converted into an hotel. Staff friendly and the room well appointed. Also, train station is nearby for quick services into Glasgow. We only had one issue with a guest in the next room not waking up when their alarm went off, again and again. Staff did their best to raise her. They did get it sorted in the end.

Was okay overall. Had to decide on check in what wanted for breakfast fast for the two nights stay was a bit of pressure. Never anyone on reception. There wasn’t any security on the door. Need plugs near bed to charge phone. Wall paper in room was a bit ott and funky. Mold in ceiling window Shower sprays the whole bathroom soaking wet.

Super friendly hotel and staff

As always this hotel, especially the staff cannot be beaten. All are super friendly and so helpful. This includes the housekeepers. It is for this reason that we keep returning when in the area or for work.
