Needs a good clean
Great location just off Green Lanes with a bus stop moments away and lots of shops, including supermarkets, cafes and restaurants, within easy reach.
The house is large and easily accommodated our party of nine adults.
Unfortunately, the standard of cleanliness and basic maintenance was disappointing: cobwebs, grubby paintwork, inside of bathroom cabinets untouched for some time, dirty floor rugs, broken or missing items (bulbs in bedside lights, rail in wardrobe), dead plants. The freezer compartment of the fridge needed defrosting.
The front and back gardens are unkempt and uninviting.
The beds are very firm but the water pressure is excellent and the hot water heater coped with the demands of a large group.
The thin curtains mean the rooms get light from dawn (not ideal in summer).
The bath sheets (one per person) were good but no hand towels for the bathrooms were provided until we asked for them.
The lounge has two not very comfortable sofas and lots of dining chairs. There is no way the maximum capacity of 16 guests could fit in the room.
The dining table has seating for 8.
The washer and dryer both worked well.
The hosts were slow to respond to messages. Notification of a broken bed frame wasn’t acknowledged for two days but a repair was eventually made.
A greater focus on the fundamentals would make this house an acceptable budget option for large groups.
