"Great location!"
We booked this hotel for its location and beach front. It is our own fault for not doing MORE research. Our room, while very clean, was very small. There was a lack of space to put our clothing and toiletries. Extremely small bathroom vanity, with no dresser. There were 2 small drawers underneath the small closet. The linens were terrific, the staff was very nice. We had borrowed our son's vehicle for our stay which was a 4 X 4 pick up truck. It would not fit in the garage that's under the hotel (too tall at over the 7' height restriction), nor was there space behind the hotel for it. Ultimately we had to park it across the street which made us worry about its safety. No bath tub, just a nice shower.

It is close to the beach, and surrounded by to shopping plazas so it is convenient. It is not a 5 star hotel but it is clean enough with lots of parking. They included breakfast is also a plus.

"Beautiful beach view hotel"
Beautifully decorated hotel and clean! Everything is great. They told me I can ck in as early as 11; but that didn't happen. I know they just didn't want to upset me and really tried I guess. But they should be more honest. We were tight on time n it put us behind. And if there was toothpaste; it would have been awesome !

very nice,Beach front resort,Manicured grounds,Great food.Awsome pools.Nice shops on the resort.the only negative we be the resort monopoly on the prices of food and drinks.Example would be 2 double gin & tonics $50 with tip.Pretty excessive! They offered no ride or shuttles off the resort to get our own food and drinks, even though they had Lincoln navigators trucks on the lot.Wonder what there for???

"Nice villa very close to beach"
My husband and I stayed at The Sandcastle Villas. The room decor was beautiful. Going to sleep and awakening to the sound of the ocean was awesome! We toured Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach. The hotel staff were very courtious and extremely helpful with recommending area sites and restaurants. Great stay! Great ocean view!

"Nice hotel close to the airport"
I just needed somewhere to stay overnight in order to catch a flight the next morning. It took 15 minutes to get to the airport and I didn't have to pay the high airport hotel prices. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

"Great Location!"
My husband & I spent one night for our anniversary. Loved this hotel! Staff very friendly & helpful. We ate brunch & breakfast there. Both meals were great. Husband had shrimp & grits for brunch & he loved it! At breakfast the next morning, they had a small buffet of quiche, biscuits, gravy, fruit, homemade jams and sausage. Everything was very good! Not to mention it came with the price of the room. The room (#10) was large and had a jacuzzi tub. The bed was comfortable. Perfect for the 2 of us. The location of the hotel was also perfect. Once we parked, (free onsite parking), we walked everywhere. Checked out all the stores, restaurants, etc in historic downtown. If you just remember you are staying in a hotel built in 1857, and has a lot of history, you will love this place. Most of the negative reviews were about no elevator, no gym, loud bar next door. Really? No elevator or gym?? Go stay elsewhere if that is important to you. As for the loud music from next door? We were on that side of hotel and barely heard anything. The music that was coming from there was nice! We enjoyed our stay very much! Thank you Karen Saltmarsh, you and the rest of staff were great!!

    Jacksonville Beach Hotel Guide

It’s time for an escape to the sands of the Atlantic coast where the sun kisses your skin on a daily basis and frolicking in the warm, turquoise water is as refreshing as sipping a pina colada. We’re talking about the beaches of Jacksonville, Florida. The biggest city by population in the Sunshine State stretches out its open arms from the banks of the St. James River to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and is a melting pot of fun. Cast out a line during a charter fishing trip and then head back to town for a delicious dining experience accompanied with an ocean view…only if you’re not feasting on your catch of the day. Let your everyday worries drift away with the offshore breeze as you relax in style in one of our incredible Jacksonville beach hotels.

Can I go deep sea fishing in Jacksonville?

Of course you can go deep sea fishing in Jacksonville. There are more than a few companies running charters that will make you feel like you’ve jumped into the pages of Hemingway’s The Old Man the Sea. Whether you spend a few hours trolling for dorado or the entire day on the hunt for 10-foot sailfish, it’s hard not to relax while bobbing amongst open ocean swells.

Make a reservation with Majesty Deep Sea Fishing and hop aboard their flagship, The Majesty. You’ll cruise the north Florida coast in search of red snapper with colors brighter than a fire engine, barracudas with stripes like a tiger, and swordfish with flat bills the size of Japanese katanas.

There’s also the option of setting sail with Team Buck Rogers Jacksonville Fishing Charters. Captain Chad Starling will guide you along the coast to many underwater, natural ledges and artificial wrecks of tug boats and airplanes. Once the day is done, the experienced crew will fillet your catch of the day so you’ll be able to enjoy it later at one of our Jacksonville, FL beachfront hotels.

Where are the best restaurants in Jacksonville with an oceanfront view?

    • The Eatery: This waterfront establishment is located at the Four Points by Sheraton and offers up a great selection of classic American dishes—everything from cheeseburgers to grilled steaks and crab cakes. Enjoy your meal on the patio while the stunning Atlantic sparkles across the horizon.
    • Seachasers: Located at 831 First Street in Jacksonville Beach, this wonderful seafood establishment is well-known in this area for serving up some of the best dishes from the deep. Start with the Seachasers shrimp and coconut curried mussels as appetizers. Follow those up with a Mediterranean seafood stew entrée. And for dessert, a Key lime cheese cake should do the trick.
    • The Pier Cantina and Sandbar: If you’re feeling like cuisine from south of the border, make your way to this wonderful eatery for a dining fiesta. Get yourself a plate of enchilada suizas with rice and beans and wash it all down with a spicy jalapeno margarita.

Your time for a proper vacation to the Eastern Seaboard has arrived. It’s at your fingertips. All you have to do is make a reservation at one of Travelocity’s Jacksonville hotels on the beach like the Best Western Oceanfront and you’ll have your toes in the sand in no time.
