"Nice villa very close to beach"
My husband and I stayed at The Sandcastle Villas. The room decor was beautiful. Going to sleep and awakening to the sound of the ocean was awesome! We toured Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach. The hotel staff were very courtious and extremely helpful with recommending area sites and restaurants. Great stay! Great ocean view!

"Very nice resort"
We spent Christmas here with relatives and had a great time. I thought our room, a suite, was really nice for the money. It was quiet and comfortable and fresh. The staff was very friendly. The food was good (had the breakfast buffet). The only problem was that there was a lot of reconstruction going on (the pool was closed and there was plenty of construction activity there on the day after Christmas. The beach facility was nice and easy to get to by the free shuttle bus. Made for a nice, relaxing holiday.

"oasis"
very nice,Beach front resort,Manicured grounds,Great food.Awsome pools.Nice shops on the resort.the only negative we be the resort monopoly on the prices of food and drinks.Example would be 2 double gin & tonics $50 with tip.Pretty excessive! They offered no ride or shuttles off the resort to get our own food and drinks, even though they had Lincoln navigators trucks on the lot.Wonder what there for???

"Get an oceanfront room"
It's smallish, but having the balcony is great. When we arrived, the room rug was damp (this particular room had a door that opened to the outside like a motel, even though we were on the fifth floor. The hotel staff was accommodating to our request for an alternate room...after checking four rooms, we found one that did not have this problem (I have mold allergies and cannot stay in damp conditions). The staff was terrific, but it seemed that this issue was a strange one given the Marriott brand (I've stayed in many Marriotts and have never had anything to complain about before). The hotel was convenient to a well-stocked natural foods store (sort of a cross between My Organic Market, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods) and good restaurants. We'd recommend the Sala Thai place, and 11 South--excellent ambience and food. (We were only there for a weekend, and we traveled around a bit. The Reef restaurant, on A1A on the way to St. Augustine, was very good as well. The Brewery at Jacksonville Riverwalk has an extensive Sunday brunch and you can eat outside along the river--great views.) If you go to St. Augustine, be sure to check out the fun and funky artisan gift gallery, "Simple Gestures."

"Good pet friendly hotel."
We had a nice stay in December on late notice. Our previous reservation called us that morning to inform us they no longer were pet friendly so we had to find a new hotel to stay at that night. Found this Marriott on Travelocity and it was wonderful. The rates were great, except for a high pet fee if only staying one night. It was a good policy if you stayed longer because it was a one time fee, but it was high for one night. Other than that, I would give it a 5-star, including the breakfast buffett included.

    Jacksonville Beach Hotel Guide

It’s time for an escape to the sands of the Atlantic coast where the sun kisses your skin on a daily basis and frolicking in the warm, turquoise water is as refreshing as sipping a pina colada. We’re talking about the beaches of Jacksonville, Florida. The biggest city by population in the Sunshine State stretches out its open arms from the banks of the St. James River to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and is a melting pot of fun. Cast out a line during a charter fishing trip and then head back to town for a delicious dining experience accompanied with an ocean view…only if you’re not feasting on your catch of the day. Let your everyday worries drift away with the offshore breeze as you relax in style in one of our incredible Jacksonville beach hotels.

Can I go deep sea fishing in Jacksonville?

Of course you can go deep sea fishing in Jacksonville. There are more than a few companies running charters that will make you feel like you’ve jumped into the pages of Hemingway’s The Old Man the Sea. Whether you spend a few hours trolling for dorado or the entire day on the hunt for 10-foot sailfish, it’s hard not to relax while bobbing amongst open ocean swells.

Make a reservation with Majesty Deep Sea Fishing and hop aboard their flagship, The Majesty. You’ll cruise the north Florida coast in search of red snapper with colors brighter than a fire engine, barracudas with stripes like a tiger, and swordfish with flat bills the size of Japanese katanas.

There’s also the option of setting sail with Team Buck Rogers Jacksonville Fishing Charters. Captain Chad Starling will guide you along the coast to many underwater, natural ledges and artificial wrecks of tug boats and airplanes. Once the day is done, the experienced crew will fillet your catch of the day so you’ll be able to enjoy it later at one of our Jacksonville, FL beachfront hotels.

Where are the best restaurants in Jacksonville with an oceanfront view?

    • The Eatery: This waterfront establishment is located at the Four Points by Sheraton and offers up a great selection of classic American dishes—everything from cheeseburgers to grilled steaks and crab cakes. Enjoy your meal on the patio while the stunning Atlantic sparkles across the horizon.
    • Seachasers: Located at 831 First Street in Jacksonville Beach, this wonderful seafood establishment is well-known in this area for serving up some of the best dishes from the deep. Start with the Seachasers shrimp and coconut curried mussels as appetizers. Follow those up with a Mediterranean seafood stew entrée. And for dessert, a Key lime cheese cake should do the trick.
    • The Pier Cantina and Sandbar: If you’re feeling like cuisine from south of the border, make your way to this wonderful eatery for a dining fiesta. Get yourself a plate of enchilada suizas with rice and beans and wash it all down with a spicy jalapeno margarita.

Your time for a proper vacation to the Eastern Seaboard has arrived. It’s at your fingertips. All you have to do is make a reservation at one of Travelocity’s Jacksonville hotels on the beach like the Best Western Oceanfront and you’ll have your toes in the sand in no time.
