We had a small window and had a partial view of the castle but mostly we looked at a side of a building. The minibar was well stocked. Room was clean. Bed was great. They offer a turn down service, if you want it. I did not have a good experience in the hotel bar or the restaurant, which was really disappointing. I ended up leaving the bar because I got tired and annoyed waiting for a server. I went to a pub nearby instead. Service in the restaurant was also mediocre/average. I thought the male hostess was either naturally really hyped up or on something (I thought the latter). I found the restaurant food to be just okay. I was really looking forward to be impressed given some of the reviews but it was underwhelming. I had the king scallops. I found them overcooked and small. Appy and bread were also mediocre. My partner had the ravioli which he thought was good. Overall, I was disappointed in both the bar and the restaurant. I would choose a different hotel the next time I’m in Edinburgh. "
