We like the area very much. Easy to get to. The view from our room was very nice and overall the room it self was very nice. Nice Reception area and nice friendly staff that checked us in. Very disappointed that we had to pay $8.00 to park and had to drive to the garage and walk back in the freezing cold to the front of the hotel to get in. Also they said they had a shuttle to Carver Hawkeye but that he could not shuttle us back. So we end up going back out in the cold to the car and drove ourselves to the Arena. Next time we will not stay here because of that reason.

Love the hotel - Don't ever buy the "insurance!"

Pros: This is a great Marriott!
Cons: Insurance is a scam.
Location: Great location to the University of Iowa.
I had a horrific experience with the insurance. It is a SCAM. My daughter was sick and I tried to cancel the hotel. I was told "you'll have to file a claim and provide appropriate documentation." I called twice. I will NEVER use Travelocity for bookings again. Consumers beware of the "fine print and details."
