NO Room for my family - Hotel blamed Expedia

Showed up for a late checkin and they had to reservation for me and blamed everyone but their new system that was obviously the issue. Finally a manager showed up and gave us a room they had closed up for repair. I paid almost $300 to be left stranding in the lobby for over an hour after a long day. What a joke. ive been treated better at $50 motel 6s.

Very nice hotel but the beds were overly soft and with a bad back i was only able to sleep 4 hours so instead of sleeping in, we got up early and went home to sleep.

There are plenty of great food options nearby. A must-try spot is Bubba, and you’ll also find several excellent breweries within walking distance. Plus, there’s a supermarket close by where you can pick up water and snacks for convenience.

Room: very nice and roomy for a downtown hotel room. Clean and comfortable. Shower drained slowly, but made up for with its modern new feel. Tried coffee from Hobnob, comparable prices to other nearby coffee shops and very nice atmosphere. Tried desserts from the other on-site restaurant- resort priced, but gorgeous presentation and delicious! Common areas classy and clean, too! Parking was easy and very reasonable ($10/nt self park in the Nationwide garage and attached to hotel by skywalk). We walked a lot downtown and everything was remarkably clean…sidewalks, entire garage, elevators, streets…definitely caught our attention. Toured the capitol for free, 90 minute captivating your, the building is a must see if you’ve got the time. Also did the Salisbury House tour, great tour guide and an interesting tour if you like house tours. Loved our first visit to Des Moines, in large part to this conveniently located, comfortable and clean hotel.
