Transportation From MAN
You’ll find plenty of hotels near Manchester Airport, an impressive, three-terminal facility with well-organized transportation services. MAN has its own integrated transportation hub called The Station for all train, bus, and trolley connections. Trains operated by TransPennine Express and Northern Rail leave the station on regular intervals, taking you to Manchester Piccadilly station downtown. National Express bus service connects MAN to Manchester and other UK cities like London, Glasgow, and Liverpool. The Metrolink trolley is another way to get into town from The Station.
Transportation by car does not go through The Station, however. Taxi stands are located outside each of the three terminals. Queue up for a traditional black cab, or meet your pre-paid hired car there. If you book a rental car, you will want to take the airport shuttle to Car Rental Village. From there, you will check in, get your keys, and head out from the airport.
On your return flight, you might want to get to MAN a little early to visit Runway Visitors Park to tour the Concorde and get a close-up look at incoming Manchester flights.
