How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Kota Kinabalu

These useful tips about airport security will save you a lot of time on your journey to Kota Kinabalu:

  • Security personnel will request to see your boarding pass and travel ID as part of their checks. Have them in an accessible place, so they're all ready for inspection.
  • Coins, belts and wrist watches should be put in a tray for X-raying. If you walk into the body scanner with any of these items, you'll be asked to turn back and remove them.
  • Ensure your electronic devices and laptop are easy to reach. These items need to be put through the X-ray machine separately.
  • When you get to the security checkpoint, you'll be asked to put all creams, liquids and gels in a separate tub for scanning. Make sure they're all packed in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and sealed in a clear zip-lock bag.
  • Consider your choice of footwear. Slippers are awesome because they're a cinch to take off when you're at the security checkpoint. Try wearing a pair on your next journey!
  • The list of prohibited items is forever changing. Check with your airline's official website to understand what is not allowed on board their flights.
