"Beach-front hotel, family friendly"
This was our second stay at the Royal Sands, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We were upgraded to an oceanfront suite, and the view was great. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the suites have full kitchens, although we did not use ours much as we were on the all inclusive plan. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there were multiple dining options, from fine to casual. Sipping tropical drinks on the beach or around one of the pools was a pleasant way to spend the afternoons. This is a timeshare resort, and we were offered a presentation, but there was no pressure when we declined this. We appreciated the quiet and family friendly atmosphere of the resort. Although everyone appeared to be having a good time, this is not a "party hearty" type of place. Many families with children were present.

The hotel was great. The bed was terrible. I stayed 4 nights, my back was aching every day. But, it might just be me. Im 6'4" tall so that could be the reason. Other than that the hotel is nice, has a great ocean view, the staff is excellent

"Nice Resort - Secluded"
Overall it was a really really good experience. The resort was well built and first rate. Good value as well. Staff were friendly and accommodating. This is a newer resort, and although not the largest, the rooms were excellent. We got the one bedroom suite, which was perfect for my wife, I and the two young kids. We did not do the all inclusive, since we were going to be off resort for 2 days of the trip. They do try rather aggressively to get you to go on the membership sales tour. We declined despite the VIP discount card they offered (thanks other reviewers for the tip). The only issue we had is that one night that we wanted to visit the Steak restaurant, all the seats for the night were taken by members. We were able to get in on a following night. Overall, the food quality was the only thing lacking a bit. Although I'd say the food was generally decent, it lacked any really memorable dishes, even in the more upscale restaurants the food was only ok. We've been to a number of resorts in the Caribbean, and the food was the one thing that would be rated lower than others. However, the cleanliness, accommodations, and staff were first rate. We had an excellent time overall - the kids loved the pools, and it was a relaxing experience. Great beach - wonderful staff (Hector was amazing). This place is a bit off the main Cancun hotel strip so if you are into nightlife, probably not your spot, but for a family with kids it was excellent.

"Best Location on the Island"
The best thing about this hotel is the location. You have the most beautiful private beach when you walk out the door with the most incredible water. The second best thing is the friendliest most hard working staff on the planet. No complaints. As beautiful as the pictures are, seeing it in person is even better. I read a negative review about a woman who arrived early and had a bad experience. We had the opposite. We were warmly welcomed. They put our luggage in storage, gave us our bracelets, told us to enjoy the hotel with all the amenities, and come back and our room would be ready at 3:00. Our room was in the tower and they are known to be average rooms. We had a balcony that overlook both the sea on the east when we looked left and the sea when we looked right. So who cares about the room? We were there only to sleep, shower, and change clothes. Loved the bed. We had read negative reviews about the food, but we thought it was great. Sad to say I gained two pounds during our week vacation! My husband joined the fan club of the omelette making lady who made him the best omelettes of his life! We wished they had a cash machine in the hotel so we would've had more pesos handy to tip the amazing staff.

"Wonderful Hotel"
Great first trip to an all inclusive in Cancun! The Omni was recommended by our friends and it exceeded our expectations! Great food, great beach, great pools, fantastic staff! Super clean! We stayed in a deluxe room with lagoon view 1917 and were pleased to find there was a partial ocean view as well. Room had everything we needed, in room coffee maker (coffee not that great- only used once) nice lighted closets with safe, ironing board, fridge stocked with water, pop, beer and juice boxes. Great private balcony. King bed was comfortable, pillows were not my favorite- large and bit hard for my taste. Book your restaurant reservations when you arrive, we ate one night at the open air mexican restaurant on the beach and two nights at the Italian restaurant, both had a dress code- no flip flops etc. The main buffet in the Paloma is great and offers indoor or outdoor casual dining, there is a pool side Sushi bar and Mexican bar, and one with burgers. Lots of variety. We will be going back!

"1st time stay, and it was EXCELLENT in every way!"
I booked a 3 night stay with my husband based on recommendations from two friends with very different travel styles. I had very high expectations because of their reviews and the cost. Every expectation was met - staff were really wonderful, genuinely friendly and accommodating, the pools were awesome, the beach was lovely, service was excellent, food was delicious, there was plenty to do (or not do). We stayed in the junior suite (non excellence club) and it was perfect - no need to upgrade on our opinion although many others suggest otherwise. I highly recommend this hotel for a short or long romantic stay.
