"Slick hotel in the center of everything. "
Comfy beds, updated bathrooms, and pleasant staff. After hours room service was lacking, however. The location is perfect -- and I say this as a former Bostonian who knows what she is talking about.

"Nice hotel in (or near) the heart of downtown "
This is a great location. Comfortable rooms with a good view (if you're staying on the 8th floor as I did you can look out over the harbor.) Friendly staff and reasonable rates. My room did have a musty smell in the restroom, but other than that I'd stay there again. Also, you do hear the street down below (cars honking and pub crawlers shouting) so if you're a light sleeper I'd recommend a room away from State street

"This place is amazing!"
This is such a nice hotel. Room was clean and comfy. My only one complaint is that they make you pay a $17 a night fee for wifi weather you use it or not. You should get wifi for free. But other then that I loved this hotel.

"Not Really A Luxury Hotel"
Got a deal thru a travel site, otherwise this review would be more negative. To start with, layout of hotel was very confusing–Check in on 6th floor; pool is on the roof (closed due to construction); 2 sets of elevators: 1 set to get from street level or garage ton6th floor then change elevator banks to get to guest rooms; lifts VERY slow and crowded due to construction workers' use. "Free WiFi" consists of having to register ea (max 4) device EVERY DAY; tv service terrible–few channels/NO channel guide in room; On Demand movie rental cost $18.99; In-room coffee svc terrible: very weak coffee; Room service food outrageously expensive and def not family-friendly; Emerald Lounge is referred to but no menu in room nor even any idea of where to find it; phone requests to Guest Services sometimes don't get response; room temp VERY hard to regulate; one bed very close to AC/Heat wall unit and was drafty overnight in 20-degree weather; self-park at hotel costs $40 per DAY, valet park even more. They DO provide "luxury" bathroom amenities, very fluffy pillows

"Beautiful hotel, great location!"
This recently renovated hotel was perfect for us. The decor was beautiful and everything was clean and new. The staff was great, we needed a mini fridge brought in for medication (there were none in the rooms) and it was there waiting for us when we checked in. They also have bikes available to use to explore the town. The rooms are on the small side but that was expected given the age of the building. We also enjoyed having a nitecap at the lobby bar, we will be back again!!!!

"Girls' weekend in Boston at the Boxer"
I met a friend who was in the Boston area for the Thanksgiving holiday and booked The Boxer for our overnight stay. The hotel was a wonderful mix of old-fashioned and contemporary. The staff was courteous and helpful and the accommodations were very comfortable. The bed and linens were dreamy and I loved the L'Occitane bath products. The hotel was well-situated for our exploring. If it hadn't been raining, I would have enjoyed using one of the hotel's bicycles.
