"Awesome Historic Hotel"
The hotel was is situated right in the middle of many historic sites, shopping centers, restraunts, and even the theatre distric. The hotel was clean, the bedding was wonderful and comfortable. The staff was amazing, from the bell men, to the waiters, to the housekeepers, and the concierge could not have been more friendly and helpful. The rooms are small like most historic hotels, but the atmosphere more than makes up for that one area.

"Close to many nice features of Boston"
The hotel was quite nice, much better than I was expecting after reading other reviews about the rooms. Our room was lovely, but it was directly across from an extremely loud clunking ice maker and diagonally across from the elevators, which regularly offloaded noisy guests until the wee hours of the morning.

"wonderful hotel perfect location"
Loved the hotel.  Across the street from the common, the salem Witch museum, a 2 block walk to the peabody/essex museum, and a 5 minute walk to pickering wharf. My only issue with the hotel is due to its age, the entire hotel is on ONE air conditioning setting.  So the lobby was an icebox, but our room on the 5th floor was very hot and stuffy. The only solution management offered was a floor fan, which just blew hot air around.  That was disappointing and the only reason it didn't get perfect marks. BUT, I would still stay there again because the location is so great.

"Great location, wonderful staff"
We don't get to Boston as often as we'd like and, in the past, have stayed close to whatever drew us into town (e.g., for a birthday party in FiDi, we stayed two blocks from the event; tickets to a show--stayed in the theater district). However, this is the third time we've stayed at the Fairmont Copley and we've decided that, without any compelling reason to go elsewhere, we're going to make the Fairmont Copley our home base in Boston. Everything is just so good, we'd rather Uber or cab to get wherever we're going than walk from a closer hotel. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, and the staff is (in our experience) well-trained, friendly, knowledgeable, polite, and willing to try to accommodate special requests. This trip, we arrived early for an event in the afternoon, so I called when we were about a half hour away to ask if early check-in would be possible. We were graciously accommodated. Sunday morning, we also asked if we could leave our vehicle in the garage and our bag at coat check for a few hours after checking out so we could have brunch with our daughter late Sunday morning without having to find parking on the snow-packed streets. I'm sure it is not always possible to coordinate such requests, and we understand that, but it was very nice to once again have our special requests accommodated. The food and service in the Oak Bar is wonderful. The rooms are well-appointed and the common areas are simply beautiful.

"Nice hotel, close to several things, roomy, clean"
The Onyx is a very nice hotel, we found our room to be clean and roomy. The bathroom had plenty of room for your toiletries and water pressure was great. The bed was super comfortable, but there was not alot of places to put your stuff. Great mini bar. Staff was extremely helpful and nice. 7-11 right down the block if you forget anything. 10 min. walk to Quincy Market, TD Garden 1/2 block away, USS Constitution was a 6 minute cab ride. All in all a great place. Free coffee and tea in the AM, free wine in the PM.

"Nice boutique hotel near the Harbor and Fan. Hall"
Hotel has excellent look, feel and convenience. Fan. Hall is around the corner as is the Harbor. The only issue is with the front desk and service they provide. While the rooms are well appointed for the rate, the staff are like what I imagine you'd find at motor court next to busy turnpike. The guy at the front desk made check in feel like I was being booked into my first night in jail (not that I've had that experience, but this was what the imagined feeling would be). A couple of them were like that at the Front Desk. (These guys do not belong in the hospitality industry). Also, when the room TV didn't work, I was made to feel like it was my fault and they may get to it when they could.

"Completely charming, helpful staff"
I just spent one night at the Colonial Inn, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the atmosphere, which is enhanced by the period decor and by a rather ramshackle floor plan. The location in the middle of historic Concord was great, and the Inn is about a three minute drive to Walden Pond. My room was clean, comfortable, and I got an excellent night's sleep. The Internet service in the room wasn't super fast, but it worked just fine. While the restaurant smelled great and the bar looked very inviting, I didn't have the chance to try either. Most importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful. I had to ask for directions to drive into Boston and back, and by the time I finished asking, the woman at the front desk had already printed out Mapquest directions to my destination, and then explained them to me. I didn't get lost at all, so I was quite grateful. I would definitely stay there again, given the chance.

Wonderful location (easy walk from subway and to trains the next day), friendly, helpful staff, great room. We arrived in Boston on a red eye flight. Staff stowed our luggage, gave us an early check-in, recommended places to eat & directed us to our destinations. We will stay there again & have already recommended club quarters Boston to family & friends.
