"This was a lay over on the way to Kings Dominion. There are restaurants and a movie theatre nearby and its still convenient to the interstate. This hotel had the largest suite we could find for a reasonable rate. The staff here are good people and they are over worked-- they need more staff. This is not a complaint, this is advocating for the staff. I saw them working doubletime to overcome shortages and im grateful to them. Other than that the only " complaint" would be the smell of weed permeating the hall/ elevator area. This hotel is marketed/ reviewed/ advertised as family friendly so that should not happen and cant be allowed to become the norm. This COULD be due to staff shortage as probably no one available to do floor checks at least every 90 mins, but either way that cannot be allowed to become the norm. There is a sports complex just down the streets so there was a team or 2 staying at the hotel but they were pretty well behaved-- I only mention this in case you are traveling for business you may want to request room away from teams. All in all a good experience-- just get the staff some help so the experience and property doesn't deteriorate."
