"The room was clean, the pool was very nice and the waitstaff were friendly and welcoming. We signed out beach towels for a beach day which was very helpful. My only issue was the noise from the highway and the landscapers who started gas powered blowers at 8:00 AM each day. It was a great location and we would stay there again. "

"We were disappointed in general. We were welcomed by a receptionist who seemed bothered by our presence. Our room did not meet our expectations considering the price when compared to other boutique hotels we have stayed in. Scrimping on little things like falling apart toilet paper, not enough shower soap, dustballs on the floor and a noisy in wall air conditioning unit were disappointing. Yes there were good points as well. The location was very nice with lots of good restaurants, short walking distance to tourist sites, and a very nice central atrium sitting area for morning dining or just conversation. All in all the price was too high for the quality."

"Lovely stay at The Ansonborough. Definitely sign up for the optional upgrade if it’s offered to you. I’ve stayed in many hotels across the United States, Canada and Europe. The Ansonborough has to be in the top 3 places I’ve ever stayed. We stayed in the Admiral’s Suite which was spacious and well appointed. I loved that the bathroom featured large bath sheets large enough to dry and cover a larger sized adult. So often hotels have tiny and useless towels. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. We had a spacious kitchen with a breakfast bar and dining area. There was a Keurig and a small refrigerator. I was a little surprised that there wasn’t a microwave with all the kitchen space. We had a comfortable sitting area which included a gas fireplace. Breakfast was different each morning and includes yogurt, fresh melon, oatmeal, English muffins & bagels. Coffee was available 24/7. The front desk staff was very welcoming and provided directions & restaurant recommendations. The hotel is directly across from a Harris Teeter in case you forget something or want some snacks. Parking is $35 per day which seems to be pretty standard in Charleston. The location is close to the aquarium, Ft.Sumter Museum, City Market, the horse drawn carriages and other attractions. We have some limitations walking and found these destinations to be very walkable from the hotel. There were many benches and places to rest if needed. We look forward to returning soon. "
