Their computer system was down so it took an hour and 15 minutes to check in. This was after we waited for over an hour for the shuttle from the airport. The train station is right next to the hotel and the trains came in every hour-blowing its whistle. Very loud. The rooms need updating and a thorough cleaning.

The airport shuttle was quick and pleasant. And check- in was easy. BUT the hotel is right across the street from the train station and the horns whistle every half hour, all night. And, while the food st breakfast was satisfactory, they kept running out of coffee and hot water, and didn’t even have enough plastic spoons.

Front desk ladies were pretty bad in accommodating the request for an additional bed (for a surcharge) eventhough the reservation clearly had it mentioned. Terrible and they do not know the art of customer service.

It is right next to a river, and a very 1/3 mile walk uphill to downtown Anchorage and trolley tours. Glad we didn’t pick other hotels not near the downtown.

Needs updating. Dry outdated. No recharging ports, bare bones furniture ( only chair was a plastic one], lobby had 5 chairs. Bkfst was terrible. Very little offered, waffle gizmo out of order, eggs looks like Cellini sponge, not sure what the miniature sausages were made of. Decent location, staff very nice, but would not stay there again if possible

We selected this hotel as a one-night destination at a moderately reasonable price (compared to other more expensive hotels in downtown Anchorage. The hotel facilities are quite dated, but the room was clean and the bed/pillows were comfortable. Rooms were furnished with a lower-end, bug screen TV and microwave. There is a free shuttle service to/from the airport and other locations upon request. The train station is very convenient, so that could be helpful for some travelers. The biggest downside was the breakfast service. Breakfast was advertised as available from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., but when we arrived at 6:45 a.m. the offering was primarily bread, cereal and coffee. The hot food trays had not yet been filled with any food. “Slabs” of scrambled eggs and link sausages arrived around 7:00 a.m. The pancake machine was inoperative. The coffee dispensers were in dire need of replacement. So, I wouldn’t recommend this for a long-term stay, but it is a tolerable stopover destination for an overnight stay.

Arrived at 4:15 rooms not ready, computer problems couldn’t get rooms for 30 minutes. Very dirty elevator, room clean. Took train to Seward beautiful day came back at 10 pm no house keeping,no clean towels or wash clothes. Desk informed me that if I wanted house keeping I should have informed them. Duh

It was dirty, elevator was very dirty, rooms needed refurbished. Doors needed replace. By trains which kept us awake all night. Breakfast started at 6 and we were there at 7. No sausage, no bagels and no coffee. When asked they were out of bagels, making more sausage and coffee. No yogurt no fruit.

Booked Studio Suite, 1 Queen Bed, Non Smoking (Efficiency) online in February. Informed at check- in that type of room is no longer offered at this site. First given keys to an occupied room. Then given keys to our replacement room. Queen bed, two broken metal kitchen type chairs, tv is what we have. Overall the facility is in need of repairs. Carpeting stained throughout. I do not recommend this facility to anyone.
