This is the Shuttle Discovery which now resides for all to see at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy museum near Dulles Airport. An overflow museum of the Smithsonian Air and Space museum, this magnificent museum showcases some of the more historical and experimental aircraft that have taken to the skies. This includes the SR-71 Blackbird, the Enola Gay and an Air France Concorde.

It's about a 30 minute drive from DC, and has enough to look at to keep you busy for several hours. Highly recommended for the aviation buffs, young and old.
A totally superb Aviation Museum! Loads of aircraft with a famous 707 and of course Enola Gay
The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is an 760,000 square feet (71,000 m2) annex to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Located near Washington Dulles International Airport, the annex was built to showcase artifacts than could not be displayed at the main museum on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

The annex contains an impressive collection of aircraft with many famous pieces including:

• The Enola Gay, the Boeing B-29 Superfortress that dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan
• The Space Shuttle Discovery
• Gemini VII space capsule
• Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird
• Air France Concord supersonic jet

Visiting the museum is free but parking costs $15 per vehicle.
